Hey everyone-- I am Pat & was dubbed Crazy Eyes by the oh so loving & caring PeteTheGreek. This came about because my eyes shot around for the first few weeks of feeling the pressure of a multi-ply suit and briefs.

Here is some footage of my last meet-- IPA International Open March 6th.

Got a pretty good squat workout in yesterday with Pud & Maverick.

Squats yesterday--- with minis-- the baby red bands from efs

Used a gigantic slightly cambered bar-- bar weighs 65-70lbs we'll call it 65lb or an even 900 for the remainder of this log

raw --this does not deserve to be capitalized, bolded, or have a bunch of extra "w"'s afterwards.

The reason for this could possibly be two-fold. He either stopped paying attention or my hips dropped so very little it didn't deserve a "2,1". Maybe next time I'll have him start at 10? :)

In lieu of pulling today strapped up the powerpohl, added 90 lbs of plate weight and one 55lb dragging chain and walked 3 30 yard trips. (one of mine was w/ plate weight only) This thing is absolutely brutal on the lower back, abs, hamstrings and calves.

3 sets of 10-15 reps decline situp with 80 lb sandbag

Didn't think 655 raw was a big deal, especially since D.U. can do this all day and pull 6 plates with a fukced up back. Plus I was still disoriented from the self imposed Prowler torture. And what's with the title of your thread, you have an elite total you dillhole.

for sets of 15 at of 3/1/2 tempo for each rep ensuring he squeezes everything out @ the top right?

lol .... let's look @ it this way--- I feel it's pretty mediocre when a master lifter such as yourself can make a 26 year old 8 year military veteran with a tour overseas like myself(yes it was a very mild cushy tour in kuwait, but still gone) hurt for days on end whilst doing something as simple as the ab wheel.

Then I thought I was a pretty good runner until I met Tim

And I thought I had pretty good raw strength until i look over and seechuck fought across the room pulling

or when you see a 65 year old man across the room doing 10 triples with 500lbs on the squat

It's really good motivation--- us younger guys look up to u old fawkers

455x1 -- looking for a decent opening weight-- this is probably it.

Thoughts on the f6--- Could be tighter in the chest---- The only other shirt that I've really dialed in is the Metal Viking Pro--- That shirt is 2 plys laminated together as one.... I like the bottom end support of it, but the groove is probably about as wide as my pinky. The super f6 pops a little less than the viking, but is much more forgiving and fits my style of bench a little better (low groove/hard tuck). I'm going to break this in a little bit more and send it back to Ken Anderson to have an inch taken out of the chest. I also like the "stop" feeling of the viking and may have the f6 grid stitched.

In a hurry so assistance was rather limited

Great customer service to anyone who is following this log.

Add Metal Ace Suit ---- this is the first time I've been in this thing since the meet and I recently had the hips taken in an inch. I like the ace suit quite a bit, but the legs are entirely too small for the hips-- it seems like anyone with significant leg development always has to alter the hips a bit--- and in my case--- i guess i just have a small ass because I'm really not all that big ---

Volleyball tournament-- -we were the one seed --- 5-1 --- playing the 10 seed--- they bring 3 ringers---we lose in first round---- FML. They shouldn't even seed these leagues... i am pissed--- the tournament roster should have to match the league roster

After this had a softball game--- I got conned into subbing for a friends team. Went well, but was too tired to have any beers and pizza after. (which is why adults play softball right?)

Accessories were kept pretty light as I had an indoor volleyball tournament (last one of the year) after this session. Again an epic phail-- won the first round and lost in the 2nd to the eventual champions.

My depth was sucking because I suck---- had the suit taken in a week ago-- had some depth issues again today, but poly seems to stretch, stretch, and then stretch some more--- somewhere along the lines for a few weeks it's perfect--- then for some odd reason we keep wearing it and it stretches more-- then it's loose as a goose by the time the meet comes. I find it funny that some people say to "just gain weight" That's dynamite... except I have a decent chance at being competitive and I like to walk up the stairs without turning purple and being out of breath. I'm sure I'll move up to the 42's eventually as I normally walk around between 225-230, but being 5'9" and not super lean as it is, I'd prefer stay here for now.

Not really, but this is a concern of mine---- I might invest in another one (edit- suit) when elite has a sale---- The Ace suit is a fucking steal in my opinion for $225, free shipping, and a t-shirt, cozy, or some other type of gift they always give away. (price/shipping/gift is when they have said sales) This way I'll have one that I don't destroy every few months and can use for 5-6 weeks or so leading up to a meet, and another one to use when we practice in our gear.

Since I've had to soak my elbows in icy hot and other pain relievers the past few weeks, I've stayed away from speed benching. I'm following a modified 5/3/1 for the sohp and adding assistance work that either lacks or I just don't have time for during ME days. I'd like to do some de benching next week, but we'll have to see how the elbows feel.

Not a single bump :( -- that's ok guys-- sorry ive slacked on my log--- life happens, but I've still been training. I'm getting ready to start hammering out the intensity again for an end of August meet.

Highlights of training over the past few weeks:

SOHP: 195x6 -- following week - deload

Bench- missed 390 off 2 boards raw--- came back this week and hit it fairly easily

Squat- low box squat 600x3 & 650 x2 in some older ace/training briefs. (ive filled out a bit more and these are fitting really well again, but will still use as a training brief. If the ace on ace combo didn't slip so much during the descent I'd wear these over these for a meet) The best thing about the Inzer Predators are that they are very easy to use while providing very good support as well. (I have mine grid stitched so I'm not sure if that makes any difference concerning a stock pair.) I also feel that most modern gear is pretty similar and that fit is everything.

Deadlift--- Hit 600 pretty handily raw--- then dropped back down to 585 and put some briefs on to see how it looked sumo. Moved about a half inch and then about passed the fuck out.

I have a wedding I'm going to today and tomorrow, but will be back on Sunday. I'm going to run into lexen early on sunday to get a squat workout in.

Also-- after 3 weeks of fighting, writing letters, and being wronged, I now have a cell phone again. Long story short, Sprint was refusing to honor a manufacturers warranty on a defect on a palm pre. They eventually made it right, at the expense of about driving me insane.

Weak hips + sumo = ???

well i wasn't going to post this, but it was kind of a bet against DD --- he tried the same weight conventional--- it did not move at all from the floor.

I have been working and working on them hips dude--- appreciate your advice-- btw--- i think i killed little wood the other day when we did those weighted planks-- held 2 45's on my back for like a minute or so--- he made an attempt and he crashed and burned before telling me to take anything off his back--i thought the friggin weight was going to crush whatever's left inside that skull

On a side note--- in order to alleviate some ridiculously nagging/annoying elbow pain, I've been practicing w/ a thumbless grip on the squat. In addition to the grip, I also drop my pinky under the bar in order to create a more "prone" position for my hands. Yesterday was the first time I went somewhat heavy w/ this grip, and I experienced no elbow pain then and I'm good to hook today.

Saturday--- IPA State Meet/Lexen Xtreme Summer Slam.

Congrats to everyone in my crew (who all kicked some srs ass... was really proud of those guys) and all of the lifters who competed.

Performed about 2,000 powercleans, jerks, overhead presses, curls, and some full squats spotting the entire freaking day.

Stayed @ meet site until 10:30pm helping take everything down and loading the truck. More max effort GPP. --- in all reality, I'd say this was harder work than most hard conditioning I've done in a while.

Now I've got this thing figured out---- Bando coached me through setting up a little bit better-- also I imagine it's "broken in" by now. Cuffing the legs a bit helps quite a bit when trying to get down to the bar. The straps could be a tad tighter, but it still takes a minute to get them up, and my raw pull has increased quite a bit over this training cycle. I'm not going to cut the straps and tighten them at all until after the APF meet. Reps of 3-5 with varying band tensions has worked very well for me.

My goal over this winter is to get my weight back up to around 235-240 (not after ridiculous bloat/refeed, but waking) so I intend on finishing a lot of ME work with some extra time under tension.

So some things I need to work on to get better.....

#1) that piss poor bench --- still contemplating how training will differ.
#2) Nutrition
#3) Piss poor starting strength in the deadlift--- tbh I've done a deficit deadlift maybe twice in my life--- reason being I am truly terrible at the lift.
#4) a better approach to dropping water weight to make 220


Things that worked very well for me during the training cycle--- more raw/briefs only work in the squat.

A lot of high bar ssb work to a low box helped me maintain a stronger squatting position

Ridiculous amounts of upper back work, heavy rows for reps -365lb barbell rows for reps, 150lb+ dumbbell rows for sets of 10 and higher (until grip gave out), weighted pullups, shrugs, really any basic movement that added mass to my upper back

Made sure I set a rep or weight pr every training session that I wasn't feeling beat to death.

I definitely improved my flexibility over the training cycle but there is still a lot of work to do here.

i benched more than that in a single ply titan f6 in my last meet.... but yes i understand there is an old guy in the gym with a surgically repaired shoulder who can bench more than that in a kk denim that he keeps in a hyperbolic chamber in the off-season...... right next to his sick corvette

btw---- the mother/daughter combo from the fall classic was in attendance @ the meet I just did.

as far as the deadlift---- i am ecstatic with that pull---- i had no intention of trying that but it's what I needed for the total so i just gave it a go. fyi--- I did no friggin rack pulls the entire training cycle (other double overhand type stuff to strengthen my grip) --- just bands or chains from the floor or off of a mat or two.

Thursday 120811 -- Bench training --- the final session w/ jimmy overkill before he goes home for christmas break-- so we let him pick the movement

Bench w/ chains--- full range--- 160lbs of chain-- only got about 3/4 of the way off the ground

I took a very close grip (index fingers right outside of the smooth part of the bar)-- the rest of the group used a competition grip

So..... anyone know of any good ways to keep your preds from rolling up under your leviathan? ive put on a bit of weight--- suit is sickly tight in my legs now--- i can make depth (got down w/ 740 last week which was well under my opener @ the last meet I did) but not when the briefs are bunched up--- this also makes my legs go numb to the point of almost zero feeling

roll the legs on the suit up before you put it on--- tape briefs down --- whala--- i was experimenting with it yesterday --- -may need pliers to pull the legs back down once it's on, but if the briefs bunch up a bit you can pull them back into the correct position w/ said leatherman or gerber.

Arms are too small on a 54 Metal Jack. Even after JoDon stretched them out with car jacks I couldn't get the shirt fully seated. JoDon can't get it past the middle of his forearms. If I could get a 54 with 56 arms that would work but it doesn't look like these shirts can be custom made.

relay the msg to jodon--- it looks like most if not all the guys at elite are cutting the sleeves on those shirts---- they are tapered in like the titan katana however metal laminates the plies together--- i cut the sleeves on a metal ace shirt and they do not fray at all due to them being laminated--- if you are close to getting it seated you could get a 54 jack shirt stretch the arms and then cut about an inch and a half off of the sleeves and it'll go on-- check out elite and some of their lifters logs

I pried it on and got the sleeves past my elbows but my arms went numb. I took 365 down about 1 inch. We put it on Dustin and he couldn't touch anything.

The sleeves have two rows of seams. I told Jodon to cut the second seam to let some of the material out. It's a pretty easy fix.

I'm getting a 54. I'll just take apart the second seam and have Pong run a new line. If the sleeves get loose I can just tighten them back up.

Good job, again. The deadlift didn't look that bad but your bench issue is obvious. Go back through your log and tell me how many reps you touched in the gym. Boards are the devil. It's like doing high box squats in training then trying to break parallel in a meet. That last 2 inches is a whole different lift.

form was much better with 705--- both times got the bar to my knees and stalled out---- I never miss if I can break the floor-- before today--- I'm not disappointed in this at all. This was done for shits and giggles just to kind of see how much power I had lost since not really going balls out on the deadlift since the meet. With another good training cycle starting the first week of May-- I'm confident I'll pr on the deadlift @ my next meet late this summer.

If we hadn't done enough stupid shit for today............

Tandem deadlift with one of my partners Burke (who pulled a pr 615 deadlift on this day--- first time he's been able to pull 6+ in over 2 years.... we are proud of your big bald ass)

So my previous thoughts on deadlift lockout strength (for me at the least) is correct. Pulling against bands really really helps my deadlift lockout. I haven't done an excercise like this in a few months now, and I could feel the lack of explosiveness I normally have as the bar is breaking the knees.

Lightened deadlift (elite gray band from top pin in rack) raw

worked to 720x1 -- 10lb pr -- then i rechecked my log--- that 10lb pr was actually done with the strong band... so an even bigger iimprovement!

Started weighing in guys at 10 on Friday. Went back to the sportscenter and unloaded everything. Got the stage and warm up area set up by 9 -- pr. Didn't piss off anyone -- this is also a pr

Showed up @ 8 and smoked a steak egg and chesse bagel and a few breakfast burritos from McD's.

spotted the majority of the day... helped a few partners out w their equipment.... fought through a shitty cold all day........

tore shit down and was out by 830 -- this is a pr


all in all this was a good meet w/ 3 pr's.... and my partners didn't do half bad either.

Friday June 29th-- this is the day where storms barreled through the region and knocked out tons of power (I was without for 6 days)

Free stability squats w/ hanging boat chains (doubled never touching ground)

Raw worked up to 620lb total weight (290 bar weight 330 in hanging chain) for a deep single-- big pr for me

I'm either getting too jacked or too fat for my current shirts.. probably the latter..... possible issue is three thousand degree heat combined w/ a sweaty italian having trouble getting gear on

No lie... after I'm done I'm peeling the band (one of the short mm bands not a doubled mm... so the tension was a little greater) the thing whips off of the band peg and smacks me square in the junk. My fiance' is outside training as well.... the sound and snap of this thing was far too loud/great for her to even laugh at. I mean later she did... but damn even something so hilarious looking was too painful for her to even chuckle at. That's my girl
