View Full Version : Glutamine Uptake... Juice more Effective?

Hey guys,

Had a quick question about Glutamine uptake. I recently started supplementing with it, is it more effective to take it with juice?

Or does it not really matter, I would love to take it with water, just because it is more convienant, but I also want to be getting the full results.

I always take my glutamine with juice. Test & deca seems to work better than water.

haha, no I'm jk, mix it with your protein shake. Otherwise take it with water. No juice.

just make sure your body has some insulin floating around still if you are going to take it on with water

otherewise take it with carbs

if your taking the glutamine on an empty stomach take it with juice

the glutamine will cause some insulin release but not as much as the carbs

if your taking it with food take it in as little water as is needed just to be able to swallow it

glutamine is a base and is easily destroyed by stomach acid
carbs break down in a more alkaline environment

huh? how does glutamine trigger insulin release, i've never heard of it.
i dunno about drinking it w/ juice, that's kinda nasty. i drink it w/ protein shake and milk, it masks teh "flavorless" amino acid.

Yeh just take it with water, its ALWAYS good to take glutamine with protein though, so if you haven't eaten any protein within an hour just mix it with a protein shake.

All three macronutrients trigger insulin release.

Carbs just trigger alot more.

Ideally you would swig it back in about an ounce or two of water and then drink some juice if taken without a protein shake or meal.
