Hey everyone,
I am new to this forum and actually just found this forum this morning. I am 26 years old and currently live in Columbus,Ohio (lol no i don't train at westside or lexen). I am just an average powerlifter with best squats of 1030, bench 585, and DL 630. I moved to Columbus 4 years ago to become a personal trainer in this wonderful world of fitness. I am currently still a personal trainer and i also do security work.

My goals for this blog is to show everyone and be completely honest with everything while i go from weighing 334.2 pounds to 198. Its going to be hard and my training is nothing right now I don't even think I can do 5 mins total of cardio and I eat pizza and fast food like crazy but I am going to try and do this. My other goal is to total elite in weight classes in SHW-308-272-242-220-198. Kinda crazy huh? So if you have any questions please ask and i love comments good or bad.

So hope everyone likes this!

Awesome to have you here man. I'll be following this journal for sure. Sounds like you have some hefty goals set, can't wait to see you your training numbers. I wish you best of luck with the diet too, it seems like you know what needs to be done though.

Well here is my first workout. It went really well but i didn't do any cardio today due to lack of time I had before work. I weighed in at 333.6 today (.6 weight loss)

--Close Stance Low box (my low box is two inches below parallel) I worked up to 585 for 5 reps. It felt easy but I workout by myself with no spotters.
--Step ups on a bench 30 reps each leg with just body weight
--DB Lunges i was holding 10lb db in each hand for 3 sets of 10 reps each leg
--45 degree back raises 3 sets of 10 reps
--Abs on a decline bench 3 sets of 10 reps

Impressive stats mate. Best of luck achieving your goals.

How long do you expect this will take and what do you think your bench, squat and deadlift numbers will look like when you get to 198?

Thanks guys for following!
@Tom-I am thinking close to year with me trying to save my strength as much as possible with the big weight loss. I will be trying to still total elite at 198 at that total is 1790. So i am thinking with strengths in powerlifting I am looking at a Squat of 750, Bench of 500, and DL of 540. LOL give or take!

I weighed in at 330.6 today (3.6 weight loss)! I

--2 Board max-I worked up to 405 for a 5 rep max. It felt really easy but again I dont have any spotters so I had to lift in a power rach and had to strap the board to me with a mini band. LOL when i took 315 i just laid the board on me and it fell off at rep 3 I was like WTF haha.
--Pull Ups-I had to have 80 pounds help pushing me up. These suck when your over weight. I did 5 sets of 3 reps.
--3 way shoulder raises-I used 8lbs dumbbells for 3 sets of 20 reps per side.
--Dumbbell Tricep Extensions with using 20 lb dumbbells for 3 sets of 10 reps.
--100 Crunches

Congratulations on the PR man. 625 for 5 reps is pretty damn huge. I hear ya on the pizza too, it's def one of my weaknesses too....it's just so delicious. You still went down in bodyweight though so it seems like a win to me

How tall are you?

How did you pick 198 as a goal? Why not a solid 275?

As a former bouncer, I think getting work weighing 198 will be hard (@6'2" I weighed 205 for a few years when I was in my early 20s).

Why don't you train @Westside of Lexen?

I want to be under 200! I was a solid 275 throughout pretty much my whole life and when I competed alot I was a 275er,

I already have two jobs I love. I dont need to "GET" work.

I have been asked to train at westside. But training there is a whole different world,. My heart is not into powerlifting anymore. I want to be healthy again and not get out of breath walking up some stairs amd such!

Interesting log. Should be a good read over time, ill be following. Do you train raw, or use any gear at all? Is your goals for raw or geared? My numbers now are about what your aiming for at 198, 750ish, 500ish, 560. best of luck and look forward to seeing your progress.

Sorry guys I havnt posting that much. I started working 3rd shif and it sucks. I am always tired and not getting used to it. But I have to do it with my job. So diet is and training is going good i am getting ready to compete here soon cuz I am almost at the next weight class down. So i am wanting to know from everyone should i do this thing raw or geared? I been debating back and forth. My friends said I should do both every other weight class. WHAT DO U GUYS THINK?

Thanks for following! I been training raw cuz i lift by myself and sometimes i will throw on a pair of brieds for squats and such. I am not sure if I am going gear or raw yet I just want to total elite and nothing super crazy. Awesome numbers. Thanks for following again!

Well i think the elite numbers for raw lifters is less then geared. Do you know where apf or ipa elite numbers would be?

The Elite totals for 198s in IPA are 1790 geared and 1471 raw. Notsure for APF
