I've seen a few people talk about doing refeeds and taking ALA beforehand, what exactly does it do in relation to the refeed?

My understanding is that ALA helps with glucose uptake - shuttling it more efficiently into the glycogen-depleted cells. Taking it before a refeed will supposedly ensure (or at least maximize) the uptake of all the carbs you are eating - so they won't spill over into fat stores. I've read that ALA works most efficiently on an empty stomach - so take 1-2 30 min before ur refeeds.
