Klyushev 1080

SICK lifting from Belyev :omg:.

Malanichev has high deadlift potential, could've won this again.

Just had to post all of Andrey Belyaev's vids.

Came in at 216lbs and totaled 2422 in single ply... sick.

Some seriously strong guys at that meet, the speed on Belayevs deadlift is insane. I heard his grip is his limiting factor, but his pulls just look so easy.

One of the best meets every year. Great lifting from pretty much every competitor and the top 3 was crazy. Someone at outlaw posted about Belyaev fighting for last place. I guess Belyaev proved him wrong... :P

Strong guys to be sure! I think Malanichev just needs to learn equipment a bit better.

I am just surprised. I watched malanichev squat 993 or something raw a few weeks ago and it looked easier than any of the squats at that meet. I am just confused with that. Either way awesome meet.

Definitely a great meet. Lots of talent / strength on one platform!

Malan doesn't really train in the suit that much, since he mostly lifts raw for the majority of a yearly cycle. John Bernor's third squat was ridiculous, straight up courage going ahead with it even though he wasn't setup.

Niche meets like this are really cool and it would be nice to see more of them, like only 10 entries and you go for the total.

Absolutly. He did 450 kg with just wraps in training leading up to this meet and it looked like he had a little in him. One thing though is that he usually takes big jumps in training when he hits numbers like that and usually opens up with more to spare than he did this year. In previous years he has taken 20-30 kg jumps between attempts and now he took only 10 kg.

It does seem like many russian train without gear a lot even when they compete in it. Some of the top guys only get like 30-40 kg from a suit and they all squat 800lbs+ with just wraps.

I was thinking the same thing, lol. It's stupid at how fast he pulls that weight. Even the bench, that weight flew off his chest.

Yeah, something like that.

Yeah, something like that.

I mean I know geared lifting is a totally different ballgame and everybody is different, but I would think he would be able to get a little more carryover.

That's why Chris said he really needs to learn equipment, lol. I'm sure if he did then those numbers would be alot higher. All those videos I saw that people posted of him training for this meet were all done with just wraps, so I thought he was going raw.

Also, in general someone who squats more upright gets more carryover from gear then someone who is doing a kind of good morning weigh the weight. Im not all that surprised he doesn't get 200+lbs carryover like others.
