Everyone probably depending on their size and workout schedual needs different amoutns of protein.

One friend takes 3 scoops of Whey, the other friend 2, another just 1.

Is there a way to determine how much protein I need to take so I dont undertake (and not get big) or overdose (and screw up my liver)

Anyway I dont want estimate crap, is their an official medical way to dtermine your protein needs?

A good guideline for bodybuilders is 1g/lb of bodyweight. Try to divide it somewhat evenly throughout the day with some whey(25-50g) prior/after lifting.

A good way to do it is to have a small protein shake(25g or so) just before you start lifting and another one after finishing your workout.

Unless you have preexisting kidney or liver problems, you don't need to worry about 'overdosing' on protein. You won't harm yourself, you'll just end up wasting money.

You want to drink alot of water to flush the kidneys and it also impoves your ability to absorb the protien
