When I went up to New Jersey last week to visit with friends and family I stopped by my friends gym in Fairfield, NJ. It is called BodyGoals and he has a great collection of strongman/powerlifting equipment - figured that I would post a few pictures here in case anyone in the area is looking for a top-notch training facility (http://www.bodygoals.com/).

Thats an ideal spot. Does he have decent parking lot space to do tire flips and predator work?

Yeah, he has an excellent collection of equipment.

Yes, there are two large bay doors that open up into an area behind the building where you have at least 250' of flat asphalt for event training. The indoor area gives you about 50' to do events so you can still train with implements when the weather is bad.

Wow, thanks so much Tom!

I'm not too far from Fairfield at all. Once I land a job and settle down a bit i could definitely see myself going there. Perfect for getting serious about competing.

I know what you mean, although when I lived in Florida I used to drive two hours each way every other weekend for strongman training. Sometimes it is worth it if you can train at a place with good equipment/atmosphere/training partners.

No problem, let me know if you are interested in training there and I can get you in touch with the owner.

my NJ geography must be a bit off, I'm not nearly as far away as I thought I was. I may have to check it out.

Where in Jersey do you live?

I was staying near Edison the last time that I was up there and it only took me about 45 minutes to get to Fairfield.

I'm near the Clinton, NJ area. According to Google, it's roughly 45 minutes, so in reality, probably about an Hour.

Oh yeah, that is not too bad of a drive. They usually train events in the morning on Saturday so you probably would not hit any traffic.

Let me know if you want to head up there some time and I can get you in touch with Jon.

Tom - this would be great! I would love to get some event training in - hell, maybe I'll get hooked and give a go at competing if i get strong enough.
