View Full Version : Diet while recovering from injury

Two weeks ago I blew out the lowest disk in my back doing deadlifts. I had surgery 2 days ago and the doctor told me that I most likely will not be able to exercise for 4-6 weeks.

Any idea on my kind of diet I want to be on while working through an injury? I naturally assume that my calorie and protein requirements drop dramatically. However, I am worried that I will experience dramatic muscle loss if I cut my calories.

Note: I am currently at about 10% bodyfat and I had just finished a 5 month cutting cycle when the injury occured.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Eeeks! I'd say just keep eating clean, gets lots of protein and eat a little bit above maintence so you don't lose much muscle, even if that means gain a little fat.
