View Full Version : Tate Press with Crackling Elbows??

I'm doing a Westside/Crossfit blend workout right now. To add some variety, I've been doing some Tate Presses for tricep work. When I perform them, I don't get any pain but my elbos crack, snap and pop like crazy. I don't get this when doing other extension type of movements. Has anyone else had this experience or am I doing something wrong?

I get stuff like that on certain exercises. Without knowing the physiology, if it doesn't hurt I will continue with the movement.

Try some elbow sleeves. Might get your elbows looser.

I do the same thing as Chris. If it doesn't hurt and I don't actually feel grinding within the joint, I go forward and ignore it.

I used to get the same with skull crushers. I started wearing Rehband sleeves (looser fit) to help keep the joint warm and the crackling has stopped. It has also helped to ease some of the pain from the heavy extension movements.
