I am 3 weeks out from my first raw meet(belt+wraps). I popped something in my hamstring a few weeks ago squatting. Not sure what's wrong with it. It never bruised up, but it still hurts like hell when I am within 2" of depth and lower. It doesn't bother me when I deadlift and tonight I pulled an all-time raw PR which actually is higher than my best ever multi-ply pull in a meet. I think I am good for more. I will most likely just do this meet as a push/pull or deadlift only and hopefully get back to heavy squats for the next one.

Kick butt.

Being slightly heavier than you 175 and much weaker, I'm curious as to what training program/principles you use and feel if there is anything special that a less than 200lb person has to do?

Hope your leg heals in time for your meet.

Thanks man! I typically train too heavy too often, lol. I follow the basic strategy of 2 bench focused sessions per week and 2 SQ/DL focused sessions. I often stray from my "plan" which is usually from instinct, boredom, stupidity or to work around pain. I keep a journal in the journal section so you can see my workouts from the past few months leading up to this. I have been competeing for 9 years, but I always competed in gear and forr the last 8 or so years it was multi-ply. So this training for a raw meet is very different from what I am used to and I am getting more beat up from it, lol. Go figure.

Looks like you fixed that issue of your pulls coming off the ground one side before the other. Everything looks in unison.

Thanks everyone!

Scott- that's my plan. Hoping to stick to it, haha. In my head I will only go in and do some speed work and some volume stuff.
