I convinced Jessica to do her first meet. I was not so much trying to turn her into a powerlifter as I was trying to get her to reach a goal. She can yo-yo a bit with her weight. I always think she looks awesome, but she is happier when she is lighter. So, I figured having her make weight for a meet would work.

It sure worked, she made weight and lifted well. Her squat is actually in the top twenty on pl watch in the raw 148 class. Job well done Jessica. Well, except we expected better of her bench. She might have to use her maiden name next time she benches :tuttut:

Good for her, nice lifting. And you're right, she does look good.

Nice lifting! Jess has a lot more in her on deadlifts. 300 lbs looked like an opener!

Fantastic. Deadlifts look easy. Why have her start with her hips so low when the first move is them shooting up?

She'll prob destroy that total in due time. Congrats

She dips low but doesn't pull on the bar until her hips raise back up a bit. It looks like her first move is to raise the hips, but she's not actual;ly pulling until the bar moves. It's very efficient, actually.

I think she has really good squat form, her torso doesn't go forward at all when you can tell it's heavy

You know more than me on this for sure, but isn't that just wasted movement? Why not just start with them where they are when the pull starts? Is it a matter of preference, momentum, something else?

Def some strong lifting. She will shatter that total just with her DL and SQ alone. Keep up the great work. I try and get my GF into it but shes just do damn lazy.

I don't think there's wasted movement. She's not pulling on the bar while she sets up.

Watch Andy Bolton go thru his routine before he pulls. He actually sits down and pulls on the bar 2x before he starts his pull.
