Travis benched 835 today. I am guessing he was in the 275 class as he always is. I always told him, he'd outlift me. My best at 275 is 830. Well done Travis. Watch out though, I think I have one more decent bench in me at 275.

Thanks alot guys! I appreciate it. Things started off a little rough when I missed my opener of 805 so I retook the weight on my second and nailed it. i jumped to 835 for my third attempt and it actually felt better than my second. It came down much more smooth and popped up nice and fast. I'll admit though, it looks a lot faster on video than it felt in person haha.

I cannot emphasize enough how impossible this all would be without Louie and my brothers at Westside. we opperate as a complete team supporting each other and it is what makes this all work.

Rudy Rosales is another one I owe a thanks to. I don't pimp gear much, but these Overkill shirts are awesome. I have been wearing the exact same shirt (standard double ply) for almost 2 years now. Not the same cut, the exact same shirt and the more I use it the better it gets.

Obviously I would encourage people to use AtLarge Nutrition supplements. I train very hard and push my body to it's limits. Their supplements are of the highest quality and are what help my body recover from session to session, making hitting PRs like this possible. Plus you're supporting a company that gives a LOT of money back to powerlifting every year.

Here is the video of the 835 that Chris took. I'm sure some different angles will pop up as the week goes on.

And yes, I was in the 275's Vin. Weighed in at 267 with all my clothes on.

haha I'll take the 835, but I tend more to go by what a person's best bench is. Yours is 850 so in my mind at least, I still haven't caught up. I may end up doing bench nationals in TN this winter, but as of right now I haven't decided. Feel pretty wore out today

You do have a lot left in the tank though

I'd love to see Trav head to the Europa in CT on June 30th. Rob Luyando has also mentioned a small possibility of coming. I'll be there along with my training partner Tee Tee McRay. It sure would make for some good benchers on that platform.

Regardless of the numbers, I have very much enjoyed watching Travis' progress. He's got a ton more great benching in him.

You know I think that'd be very interesting. I'll have to play it a little by ear but I'm certainly open to the possibility.

Congrats Trav, it was great seeing you again. After the missed opener, and you came back and sat down, boy it looked like your wheels were turning....do you mind me asking how you work yourself up to take an opener again? I know as Lones says I over analyze every lift and that's not always good.

But you came back and nailed it!

haha I was just sitting there wanting to take the weight again as soon as possible. I was pretty irritated with myself. I knew I got in a bit of a rush and got a little sloppy with my technique. Just realizing what you did wrong and knowing what you need to do to correct it is what makes hitting an opener on a second attempt easier.
