It was.

We both moved the same weight that workout, but Rob handled the 1000+ way better than I did.

Raw as usual Jack?
raw for the 840.. no belt, no wraps. The 930 he had on a belt. The 1020 Rob was fully geared up (for Rob) in a belt and knee wraps (which he put on by himself). I was in a belt and predator breifs for all sets, except the 1020, where I had on knee wraps too.

Rob was giving me crap that day about adjusting his briefs before the 840 and 930.... he pulled up his shorts a bit.

do you guys do DE squats on a second day of the week?

Rob trains a little bit differently than I do with that primarily because he's mostly a raw lifter and I'm pretty much only a geared lifter now days.

Basically what we try to do is a ME pull type day one day a week and a ME type squat day (usually followed by higher rep good mornings or front squats) later in the week. Somewhere around 12 total sets (including warm ups) of DE type squats are done before the ME pulls both to warm up and to work on form and speed with the squat.

Our training has kind of evolved this fall because we are both working on different weak points in the deadlift. Rob has been working alot more on higher reps or higher volume (like up to sets of 5 or multiple singles) with his deadlifts from the floor the last few months while I tend to be working more off the blocks and have been trying different equipment combinations. I tend to pull from the floor purely for speed on roughly a 4 week rotation---high block, low block. floor (work speed and form), reverse bands or standing on blocks depending on where I am in training. I'll also throw in a week of pulls from the floor if my back is feeling really beat up, to give it a rest from heavy weights, but still work form.

Do you feel like you get a lot of carryover from reverse band work? Also, do you squat against bands for DE work?

Yes. I think Rob will agree we get a big carry over from reverse bands- reverse bands get rid of that "oh shit" factor when getting under max weight. I used to not do them on anything but bench before I started training with Rob. He convinced me that they definately have their place...we also alternate bands used, tension on the bands, and if they are doubled or not depending on where we are in training.

Rob tends to use a lot more bands on DE work than I do. Bands seem to beat the crap out of me if I am not careful.
