As you all know, I had knee surgery back in May. So my original goals I set at the beginning of the year sort of went out the window. After the surgery my main goal was to compete at 6 months post-op. I did and I hit 4 PR's and went 9 for 9. I learned alot about myself from this injury. So I'm definitely ready for next year!!!

So, what goals did you accomplish in 2011?

Healed my knee from overstretching on my own (took four months) finally am getting appointment to get an x ray to be sent to a chiro to get my SI joints mobilized, was getting close to my goal for a 250 lb raw bench in my first year of lifting, but due to school and going to places without knowing I won't be home in time will not allow for it to happen. Might just hit 240 or 245 as a max... Should be able to squat and deadlift in January of next year so I am happy.

I hit a legit 2000 lbs total in single ply as a superheavy (USAPL)
Got my bachelors degree in organizational leadership

600 pull (640).

Learnt heaps and made more lifting buddys!

Hit a raw 400 squat in a meet (at age 49).

Hit a 2400 total ( took three meets but... check)
Bench 700 in a full meet ( check )
Pull 700 in a full meet ( check, big check)
Squat 1000 in a meet ( missed this one, ended with a measly 970)

While keeping my performance up at work ( check)
Working on the masters degree ( one class left!!! )
Picking up a lifting sponsor ( .... I'm talking to you AtLarge!!!)

Competed twice in a year after tearing my bicep.
Squat pr of 525 walked out with no knee wraps.
Dead pr of 620.
Total pr despite pathetic bench- 1425.
Completed a full season of flag football with no injuries.
Broke up with girlfriend.

2011 was a much better year for me than '10

Benched 805 in March @ 275

Benched 835 in Dec also at 275

Consistently hit raw bench PRs in training, ending with 565 a couple months back but wasn't able to get around to a meet simply because I was more focused on my equipped performance this year.

I can't say these were my exact goals for this year, but I'm very happy with them.

No absolute lift PRs, but....

Completed a meet 4 months and 20 days after complete bicep tendon reattachment, pulled 672 using the same grip (didn't reverse it).

Won APF Seniors 275 Open. Other guys bombed, but.....THEY bombed.

Found three new excellent members for our basement gym team at Twin Cities
Barbell. We now have a very solid crew of 8.

Acquired bench shirts #24, #25, #26.

Spent more time in the hospital (4 days) then I have ever had in my life with a
lower leg infection. Blew up my calf to almost the size of my quad and split
the skin like a bratwurst on a grill in a couple of places. PR!!!!!!

deadlift 600, got 625
benched 3 and a half plates, got 365 in a meet.

hit 2 PR totals:

2165 @ 220 junior
2220 @ 242 open

so this year I added 220lbs to my total which I think is pretty good progress. Looking to do the same for 2012!

I hit a 500 comp bench. wanted a little more but after 6 months of sciatica problems, Im happy! Just have to make it count more in 2012

I found a better job.
I did my first official 400+ raw bench (425) in July.
I also learned a lot from all my training partners when I decided to be more open minded and NOT so self-indulged.
I improved form and technique in all 3 lifts.

Yeah nothing serious but hell....still counts rite?

Breaking the APF Masters 55-59 242 American Record in the squat 755, and total 1769 just 10 months after partial shoulder replacement.

I hit 2 goals of mine. A 600 squat in a meet, 615 squat in training. And a 400 bench in a meet, and a 405 bench in training. A 500+ deadlift will fall next year!!!

Competed in 3 bench meets, went 8-9 and set a pr in each meet.

275 lb PR BENCH

I competed in five meets, setting PRs in each one.
I turned 50 in July, so some records were set in Master II and some in Master III. I love records. :)

A very good year for me.

Goals for 2012:

500 lb squat
300 lb bench
500 lb deadlift

I'd be thrilled to meet any one of these goals in the coming year.

I set two goals. Win usapl raw nats and do a meet at 242. I got both at the same time. My goal for 2012 is to be strong again lol.

competed in my first 2 meets and prob my last due to personal reasons . first meet totaled 1220 405,365,460 in march or may cant remember lol than clash for cash in nov with 1340 475,370,500 . a lot of problems in 2011 and a lot of trips to chiro and doc over all im very happy with what i have done considering in the beginning of 2010 i was 300,300,315 max....

best gym lifts
squat,525 sleeves and inzer pants
bench, had problems this .year all yearand 405 nov2010 still my best
deadlift,525 at clash but was not counted fuck that i got it without resting it like they said. not to mention blew more blood vessels than ever befor. i looked like a walking talking zombie lol

Repeat as top ranked 165 lb raw lifter in the age 60+ divisions. (So far so good, but won't know for sure until PL Watch finishes recording the final meets of 2011.)

Learned to squat and deadlift. brought my squat up from a 105 lb max to a 265 max, and a 275 deadlift up to a 375 deadlift. Its been a good year.

Accomplished the goal of turning my garage into my training facility. Lost 20 lbs and have been working on overall muscle balance and getting my body to function well. Knee is in much better shape, hip I am still working on. Shoulders are healthy. Strength in my upper body was at its top towards start of fall, dipped a little since as lost some more weight hit a gym bench pr of 345. I am hoping another six months and I will be back to strength as my main priority and keeping from hurting myself, and just make continual progress as I can.

Benched 520 for my first 500 bench in a meet.
Benched 560 in the gym.
Totalled 1605, hitting PRs in every lift.
Won my first best lifter award (amateur).

Goals for this year:

120kg bench for 3
140kg Squat for 6
200kg Deadlift
