Now a friend of mine went to Russia recently and said that all the girls were hot, all the guys were brutally homely and he had no problems at all picking up chicks.

Seeing this pic of Ms. Russia, I buy that Russian chicks are hot. The cheekbones do a lot, for starters. But how can the men look so bad with the same genetics?

PowerMan, this will be a kinda complicated answer, I got mixed eastern european heritage, and ancient norwegian heritage, ancient norwegian heritage means that I am one of a few original norwegians who doesnt have danish or swedish blood in them.
In 1339 when the danish-norwegian union started, the norwegian people counted only around 100 000 after the black plague had taken 1/3 of my dear people, many of these where mixed with the danes and swedes and other merchants with different nationalitys, the merchants also settled down in norway, and the real norwegians spread mostly around in the mountain areas speaking their own distinctive dialect of the original Rune/viking language( that I speak still at home ), Norway becomed pretty much an out watered nation.

Now this isnt the official version, but its what my familiy has told me, so its what I know about who I am.

blaaaah russian chicks makes me wanna puke...i've been to russia a couple of times, and what I've noticed is that most russian girls are very easy. They wear EXTREME short skirts and show off to foreigners so they can take them away from russia.

What is surprising about Miss World/ Miss Universe is that there werent any winners from India until 1994 except some random finishes in the top10 etc. Thats when the economy opened up and all of a sudden from 1994-2000, Indian girls won 7 titles either Miss World/Universe. And that is taking the first place 7 out of a possible 16 times. I was in India at that time and noticed all the major cosmetic companies of the world buy out or partner with local companies. they all made their moves into the Indian market. Makes me think about it, though it might just be a random coincidence.

Tryska- Most of the people I have talked back home, say it is good that we are winning etc. but I am just wondering if this trend has happened before with other countries. I know that back in the 80's Miss India winners went on to become famous film heroines or moved onto fashion modelling,( Juhi Chawla, Madhu Sapre) and I think they looked as good as the girls today.

I suppose that's true, but the majority of contestants who cough up the entrance fees, spend money on wardrobe, hair, hotels, travel, etc, dont win ANYTHING. Basically all pageants are huge money making schemes. Only the big, famous ones give away decent awards. The plethora of smaller ones just prey on hopeful girls who want their fifteen seconds on stage and convince their parents to pay lots of cash for that. Sure, there is the possibility of winning. Chances are though, that you won't. And chances are you'll try again. And again, because they're addictive. Jane- In India you first have to win the national Miss India and the first three there goto Miss Univ, Miss World, Miss Asia-Pacific respectively. To get into the Miss India you should already be in Modelling and have won a state/city level show. Most of them are models already and have sponsors more than willing to spend money on them. These girls win, spend a year doing "world service " during that time and get back on the TV in the AD's claiming they use blah blah...fashion product that helped them win. So you dont spend much atleast back home and the system has become really structured and if you get to that level it means you already have the money to compete.

Tryska- A good point about multiculturalism. But did you actually notice that ,there werent cases where two girls that had won from the same country within a 6 year span except USA and Venezuela in 80's.
Also consider the performance of Indian girls between 1994-2000
Miss World - Winner : 94,97,99,2000
Miss Universe - Winner : 94,2000
But like I said earlier might just be a conincidence.

MP- When i was in NYC in summer2000, my friend that worked in manhattan took me to a place called New Madurai Palace, and that place had the most authentic south indian food i have eaten in the US, and south indian food is really different from the usual north indian stuff, so you might not find the usual stuff and it might taste different.
