I have found that the bands are a great way to iron out any gaps in technique on push-press or push-jerk; the bands force you to drive the bar in a good path and to have a strong lockout.
Have also done these with a log apparatus which is more challenging since the log is harder to keep directly over your center of gravity... could be a good variation for anyone who is looking to change things up and/or boost their overhead.
