Does anyone have any good sources for a quality but economical flat bench. Will be used inside a power rack for bench pressing. Tried the craigslist route for a couple weeks but missed the only one worth a crap.

If you live in Columbus, you should check out Rogue Fitness. I would think you could avoid shipping costs and get one of their benches which are pretty stable. Not sure how low you want to go for economical.

Best option I would see is go talk to any local Gyms that may be upgrading their equipment. Ask to buy an old one. I got mine from a gym that was shutting down and I got mine for 20$ and it is a really nice but old hammer strength flat bench.

You may also want to try Play-It-Again Sports if there is one near you, have found some pretty good used equipment there.

I too was looking for a bench to be used in a power rack and found a equipment company-like play it again sports or another company like this, called them-told them what I wanted and got a "used" bench and adjustable incline bench pretty cheap.
The bench is just a straight bench-no uprights as I bench off of the pins set up in the power rack.
Cannot remember what I paid for it at the time, but is commercial quality and heavy. Had some paint scrapes on it, but functional.
Good luck on your search.

I have given up my search of a bench to use in the power rack because I couldn't find one rated for what I needed. I plan on having one built instead which should actually come out to be less expensive.
