Yeah yeah, I know people here can bench like 600 pounds, but I'm just about to turn 19 in a month and I'm glad I finally got 1.5 x BW, so don't hate!

Yeah, hopefully. I'm still cutting down weight though (trying to get to 175 for boxing), and I want to get 405 at that weight. And then hopefully, within like two years or something, I want to be able to get 440 (2.5 x BW). I was near 405 a few months ago, but I was bed-ridden because of knee problems, so I lost a lot of strength.

Congratulations. PR's are awesome. Gets you hungry for the next one. Keep it up.

Thanks, and yeah, always hungry for new PRs!

My adrenaline is actually really high right now, so I'm gonna try and hit 345 right now. If I don't, I won't be upset, but whenever my adrenaline is this high and I feel good, I always make sure I max out so I can get my PRs.

Just hit 345, felt GREAT! But it was seriously the single hardest lift I've ever done, it was 10 times harder than it looked!

Very nice, congrats! Get yourself a little tighter and plant hose feet and you should be good for more. And have your spotter give you a hand out which also will help you stay tight. 405 is going up soon bro!

^Thanks for the tips, I'll keep those in consideration. But for the lift off, I'm stubborn on that, and I won't let anyone give me liftoffs for two reasons:

1. I don't rust people and I feel they'll let go either too early, or too late, screwing up my lift

2. It's kinda an "ego" thing that I have, where I have to make sure I do 100% of the work. I don't even let people help me rack it either once I do it, it's just a thing I have

And also, while I've hit a few PRs on bench, my other lifts haven't really been progressing lately. I've been getting by not really doing a routine and just randomly lifting, but anyone have any good routine, besides SS 5 x 5, that will help my overall strength in my bench, power clean, squat, deadlift, overhead press, row, etc.? Really want to get on a routine again, and I can't find any that work these out more than once a week (my muscles recover quickly, so I workout 5-6 times a week) and have all these exercises.

^Thanks. And I don't quite remember, but are you the one that tore his ACL? If so, how has it healed? If not, then who was it?

Congratulations on the PR. Looking strong, buddy. No doubt you'll meet that 405 goal.

^But yeah, the thing with 405 though is I want to get it after cutting 50 pounds. So far, I've cut 70 pounds since last year (was 295...bulked up for football), yet only lost 40 pounds on my bench (not the best, but it's improving). But I'm worried about every other lift except bench, because I don't seem to be progressing much after my knee injury.

As I asked above, does anyone have any good program to follow that incorporates all of what I consider the "core" lifts? And also, I want to increase my hand, grip, and wrist strength, because I wan to progress all my lifts WITHOUT using any sort of belts/wraps/chalk, ANYTHING, and I know that's hard to do.

That is one flat ass bench. Congrats. I hear you on the whole not having your spotter near. I feel the same way.

Yeah it's me :)
It healed up pretty nice. I did a competition 6 months after surgery and squatted 628, benched 424 and pulled 672.

^Holy....I'm guessing you're rehab went extremely well. Do yu still got the scar though? Or are you one of the coconut oil guys? :|

I leave mine because lots of athletic and aesthetic chicks tear their ACLs, and they like guys that have the same scar (from my experience, I dunno why).

Yeah, I had a great PT working with me. No, you can still see my scar.

^Well, to be fair, I'll be 19 in a month. And honestly, I thought I was behind a lot of people, because I always see 17-18 year olds getting like 430.
