As the post title says only eat Quaker quick oats (non flavoured). I usually just make them up in the microwave with some water and then throw a little milk in them after they're done to give them a some flavour. I used to eat the flavoured ones but I stopped for two reasons: all the extra carbs and the fact I found it impossible to eat them all the time. I found it quickly became difficult to keep eating the same flavours day after day and the only ones I could really handle were apple and cinnamon and maple and brown sugar.

Ive always used plain oatmeal, made with skim milk. I sweeten it with honey and raisins. Stay away from the pre-flavored packaged oatmeals. They are usually loaded with processed sugar and other crap your body doesent need.

Plain Quaker Quick Oats mixed with a scoop or two of chocolate protein powder is the way I do it. I agree that those flavoured ones have way too much sugar and crap added, although they do taste a lot better.

but when eating oatmeal I don't think flavour is the prime consideration

I agree totally. If flavour was the prime consideration there would be a lot of things I wouldn't eat, ie., tuna, flax oil, egg whites, etc.
