I've never really been a soda drinker, maybe 1 or 2 cans a week, well I'm starting to see some sort of a dependence on mountain dew or any other type of caffeine product to wake my ass up during the day. Well it hasn't been going on for too long but long enough for me to put an end to it. Starting to drink one every day, sometimes 2. Today i wanted a mountain dew so bad, I had nothing but water all day, and a really bad head ache. Its gone now though so I'm feeling much better. Might have been caffeine withdraw lol.

So what healthy liquids should I be consuming through-out the day, I don't think just drinking water is a good idea, I was thinking 100% orange juice, 100% cranberry juice or apple juice. Some 1% low fat milk. Im 162 5'10 athletic build, If anything I need to gain mass.

I also wanted to know why does everyone call what they consume through-out the day part of their "diet" when in reality they aren't even on a diet.

I'm a pretty big milk drinker. I love to make whey protein shakes with fresh fruit. I drink alot of juices as well. V8, cranberry, grapefruit, and iced tea. I know what you mean about the soda though. I love that stuff too!! Hard to stay away from unless you have other good alternatives around.

ok, yeah i also read green tea is a good one, but finding the most healthy green tea is key. The v8 strawberry juice i wonder how good that is for us.

Water. Mix with protein powder if the lack of flavor gets to you.

A lot of the users here will rave about the benefits of whole milk, but to me the fat and sugar content make it rather unappealing at best and fruit juice is high in fructose, which we tend to shy away from.

well as for liquids go, because I could be getting other nutrients from other healthy based drink that I wouldn't be getting from just drinking water.

I have almost eliminated soda from my diet completely. The only time I ever drink it is if it's a coke from the fountain on the rare occasion I feel like drinking it.

Water is amazing. Lemons are nice too.

Not needed. You're eating food. There are no nutrients I can think of (outside, perhaps, sufficient calcium) that you won't get from food.

Because what you consume throughout the day is your diet. Its just the term used to describe what a persons nutrition is like, doesnt have to be some special weight loss program or anything like that.

I drink water, coffee, and milk exclusively while coffee and milk are special occaisons only aka just waking up (coffee) or too lazy to eat enough calories (milk). Water is amazing and I suggest you drink it with everything you eat.

I laughed a little when you didn't think it was okay to drink only water. I drink mostly water with a few juices I make myself (berries, fruits, etc.)

I prefer my well water though. I cannot drink city water on that note. It smells like chemicals to me.

lol! Thought water just acts as a good flush for the system. Well lately I've been drinking water, orange juice, green tea, and the strawberry banana V8 drink. Need to get my protein shakes going again too. Man its costly keeping up with supplements

I eat a vegan meal replacement for my protein supplement. I'm not vegan but I like the extra vitamins and minerals, as well as the 34 grams of protein. I figure since I get whey protein from milk already, and I already eat eggs, that supplement is best. Other than that I don't bother with supplements, I just eat and lift.

Water has about 10 trillion functions in the body. Our bodies are mostly water (and you know... those "muscle" things). It's imperative we stay properly hydrated, especially with the increased energy expenditure of a fitness lifestyle.

I removed diet soda from my diet completely last summer. My wife kept pestering me saying that aspertame does this and that to your body...then she pours herself a couple of glasses of wine..."BUT it's ORGANIC wine.".

The stress of listening to her every time I decide to drink a diet coke was enough to just eliminate it from my diet. Now I'm a water person (Carbonated water mostly) with the occasional milk with Nitrean.

I keep a bottle of diet coke in the fridge in case I get the craving for something sweet. I take a gulp and put it back. My wife still insists that using REGULAR soda is still better than diet for the sugar cravings. I try to keep my diet soda drinking a 'secret'...the little that I drink (Once a month if that)

Last night I decided to have a glass of wine and my wife put the whole bottle in front of me and said "You can drink everything if you like." I don't understand the logic behind her thinking. I wasn't about to get wasted on wine, just needed something to calm myself down after a long hard and stressful day at work.

Food and supplements for one week cost me approximately $85. At seven meals per day, that's essentially nothing..

I'm bad for drinking soda. Love pepsi Max. I take a bottle with me to work everyday. However it's not the sugar or the caffeine for me - it's simply the carbonation I think. Maybe I'll try an experiment. Buy a couple bottles of flavored soda water and see if that "does it" for me.

After work I drink H2O exclusively. Usually anywhere from 3-4 liters.

I completely cut soda out of my diet right before I got into high school. I was 275 lbs with no muscle, REALLY overweight, and lost over 20 lbs in the two months after. Now that I've been soda free for 9+ years I love that decision and have no regrets.

Not only does soda make you fat (A LOT of sugar), but you're overall health will change. I haven't had a cavity since (literally none). All soda is essentially is liquid candy. I can't drink a Coke anymore without my teeth feeling nasty or the carbonation making my stomach feel upset.

Me, I'm a water all day, orange juice in the morning and milk at night kind of guy.

I too was addicted to soda, grew up drinking Pepsi and and Mt Dew at every meal. I got older i switchedto diet, the pounds kept adding. This past year I found a drink mix that helped me kick the soda addiction. It is called Spark, a sugar free energy drink. I really like it. I have lost 40 pounds since i started drinking Spark and giving up soda! I drink lots of water and enjoy drinking Results and Nitrean every day.

To order Spark you can go to my website www.advocare.com/10033794

But i just know one thing that's much better than any kinda Drinking liquid So that's why i like this.

The hell..

Are you referring to alcohol? Because beer contains alcohol and is a significantly healthier option than soda (in moderation).
