RAW United: Beau Moore Classic
3/10/12
Once again, Spero and his crew ran a great meet. They tried something new by having an AM and PM session and i'm glad I was in the AM session. My weight cut was a little off at the beginning but I pulled it off and weighed in at 240.6 and was able to bulk back up to about 248 that night. Since the meet was about an hour away, I didn't bother getting a hotel for the night. That way I can sleep in my own bed and get some good sleep. Meet day, we didn't plan our timing right and ended up running behind a little and walked in during rules.
Warm-ups
All my warm-ups went pretty good for all 3 lifts. So theres nothing much to say, so i'll on to my attempts.
Squat
1st attempt: 600...3 whites
2nd attempt: 635...3 whites...7lb PR!!!
3rd attempt: 655...3 whites...27lb PR!!!
The weight felt great and light on my back. My walkouts were perfect and the depth felt good.
Bench
1st attempt: 410...3 whites
2nd attempt: 435...3 whites...11lb PR!!!
3rd attempt: 445...3 reds
The bench really wasn't that great. It wasn't a competiton bench and the pad was super soft. That's no excuse on why I missed 445. I just didn't have it in me. I knew after I did 435 that I was pretty much gassed out, but I went for it anyways.
Deadlift
1st attempt: 635...3 whites
2nd attempt: 685...3 whites...13lb PR!!!
3rd attempt: 700...3 whites...28lb PR and all-time PR!!!!!
Everthing went perfect on my pulls. My setup was good, grip was good and the drive was there. The bar was pretty rough on my hands but not too bad.
Total
1790 @ 242...66lb PR!!!
I want to thank all my friends and family for supporting me, especially my wife for having my back and being there for me. I want to thank my best friend and training partner Aaron for helping me train for this meet. A big THANKS to Tone Barbaccio for helping me setup a training program for this meet, thank you big man!!!! Thank you to everyone here at WBB!!! I'm not a sponsored lifter but i'm going to thank him anyways because his products got me through this training cycle and meet, Thank You Chris Mason and At Large Nutrition for making some kick ass supplements!!!!
