View Full Version : How gradual should my carb reduction be pre-contest 11 weeks out?

I'm eleven weeks out and wondering where my carbs should be at this point. Stand 6' weighing in at 236 right now, not sure of target weight but worried about peaking too early, as fatigue is a big problem for me(and everyone else I'm sure) with the carbs down. Getting hard and started new pre-contest "supplements" starting to kick in I think, despite the calouses..lol Not my first contest, but wondering what most guys do with their protein intake when lowering carbs during diet. Anyone?

Your carb intake is based on you, there is no general number. I've had guys taking in 300g carbs 2 weeks out and I've had guys who where at 100g, its all individual. There are different factors that effect how much you need.

Your protein intake should pretty much stay the same throughout. I usually have clients set around 1.5 times their bodyweight.
