Are you being consistent in eating that amount? ~3200 kcals without including dinner (so let's say 4000) should be more than enough for a 140 pounder to gain weight.

i just wrote this up yesterday, i wanted to see what wbb thought of my foods. i know i can easily gain pounds with this, but i just wanted to make sure they are the right types of foods. i work 12 hour days and its a very physical job so i burn calories like crazy.

Is too much white rice a bad thing?

At 140lbs, there is no such thing as too much of anything! Get eating :)

Apologies, I thought that this was another 'I eat so much but can't gain weight' thread.

Food selections look fine. I'm not seeing much fruit or veg but there could be plenty in your dinner meal which isn't specified.

Define 'too much'.

I find double cheeseburgers and french fries from mcdonalds makes it easier to stick with a bulk..so gooood.

At you're height and weight drink a gallon of whole milk a day. It will do wonders for you, and don't worry about gaining fat from it. You've got 40lbs to go before worrying about bulking making you fat.

Well, if you want to get bigger you'll stay on your schedule. If you don't care, then you won't stick to it. Gaibning weight sucks. It's way harder than losing weight. When you hate eating and despise it, then you're on track.

The reason most people fail at gaining weight is they eat like they should for a few days and then slack off for a few. You have to get the food in consistently. Track everything you eat for a month straight and commit to hitting your calorie mark everyday, otherwise you'll slack off and think you're eating more than you really are.

So true. The other way I used to go about this was to buy a certain amount of food each week. My rule was on Sunday (grocery shopping day) my refridgerator had to be empty. This way if I had a bad day, and inevitably I would, I could still hit my goals on a weekly basis. If you get in the calories everyday or every week, it doesn't matter. Just need to get them in.
