Last week was pretty much a wash. I was sick for the most of it and the focus was to just get better. I did manage to get the OC Throwdown Qualifier WOD2 in twice. It was
AMRAP 5 Mins
30 Squat Clean and Jerk @155
30 Bar Facing Burpees
First attempt = 27 reps
Second attempt = 30 reps
30 reps put me in 291/740
Big improvement over week 1 in position but half way to where I need to be to actually be competitive.
Yesterday took a trip out to RX Jump Ropes and spent the day with David Newman. He took me through a bunch of jump rope drills and got me set up with my own custom rope. If you're looking for a rope or need to learn how to improve your double under game check the out http://rxjumpropes.com/.
Going to be switching a few things up with my training so expect to see some changes in the log over the next few weeks.

Some pretty impressive stuff. You've got a lot of strength... only a matter of time before you lose just a bit of that but get a ton of conditioning, endurance, and speed. Best of luck AJ.
Also, if you need any equipment... just got an email from Rep Fitness (http://www.repfitness.com) about all the holiday/black friday stuff going on... dropped about 1k earlier today... always willing to help out fellow Crossfitters/weight lifters!

AMRAP 20 Min:
6 CTB Pull-Ups
6 Front Squats - 13 lbs
9 TTB
This was the OC Throwdown WOD 3 modified. After talking with Bryan we decided it didn't make sense for me to continue in the competition and as this WOD RX was 4 Muscle Ups, 6 OHS and 9TTB. We knew I'd wouldn't be able to put up a good score and essentially it would be a waste of a training day. Obviously, this wasn't an easy thing for me to swallow but on reflection I realized essentially I had wasted two weeks of training by getting caught up in qualifiers before I am ready. I'm still 252lbs which is 42 away from where I need to be.
Thursday, November 22st 2012.
Every 30 Seconds for 8 Mins
3 Bench Press w/ 185
Was the gym coaching the powerlifting team so decided to get a little bench in. Been a while since I pressed so kept it light and worked at a fast past.
Friday, November 23rd 2012
EMOM - 12 Mins
2 Back Squat w/225
WOD - 8 Mins
Row 400m
50 KB Swings w/53
1 round + row & 46 reps
Monday, November 26th 2012
Full Snatch - up to 145lbs (20lb PR)
Still pathetically weak but this is the most I've been able to do through the full range of motion. Kinda wish I could just power snatch all the time.
5 Rounds:
Run 200M
10 Push Press/Jerks - 115lbs
Rest 5 mins
Tabata - 1min on 1min off
10 Rounds - Row
Tuesday, November 27th 2012
AMRAP 20 Min:
7 Front Squats - 185
11 Burpees (lateral jump over bar)
15 Pull-Ups
5+2
Rest 10mins
Tabata - 20 on 40 off
5 Rounds - Airdyne

Are you Kipling pull-ups yet? That 5 rounds in the AMRAP is pretty damned good at 250lbs.
