I've been eating white rice all my life, and was just wondering if someone could tell me why brown rice is supposed to be better. Also does it taste any better or worse than white rice?

I believe it's got way more nutrients in it. I prefer the taste of white (can't eat it though), but if you're used to brown stick with it

I like the taste of white rice better...but brown rice is more nutritious for you.

Is there any difference between the instant 8 minute kind and the stuff that takes 30 minutes?

Think I was reading that instant rice is processed...you want to stay away from that.

why is parcooked brown rice processed? it still is based on the whole grain...

Instant rice is processed and is even higher on the glycemic index than regular white rice. Yikes!!! You want to avoid that like the plague.
