View Full Version : Do I really need to bulk & cut?

What I mean is, can't I just gain lean mass by lifting regularly and getting enough protein? I mean it might be a longer process, but isn't it totally possible to get big without bulking or cutting???

sure it can be done. But its a long prosess. I prefer bulking and cutting. but i try to limit my bulking so that i dont end up as a big fatass every winter.

I dont bulk and cut and im very fine off, I think bulking and cutting is only for those in desperate situations. Either that, or some people prefer bulking and cutting and some prefer more consistency.

you would get better results in the long run by bulking and cutting. you cant add muscle and lose fat at the same time if your natural and experienced. if you are obese and have never lifted, its possible. bulking and doing cardio to stay lean makes no sense to me.

I no longer bulk. My goal is to keep my bf 10-12%, and while gaining lean mass.

Unless you are competing, why would you cut to 5% bf? I think most competetive body builders 'bulk' to 10% - 12% then cut to 5% - 7% for shows. 10% body fat is not a lot for the average joe smoe on the street and you will look lean and mean walking around at that %.
