View Full Version : Will adding protein shakes (1 or 2 a day) help in weight gain?

OK, so assuming everything else in my diet is in order, will adding one or two protein shakes per day help in weight gain at all? I'm just curious, cause I'm making strength gains but my friends keep saying I look skinny as hell, and I'm fairly certain they're right

Protein shakes would help in weight gain by adding more clas to your daily intake. Adding 1 or 2 meals to each day would be a better choice for weight gain or try a weight gaining shake.
Of course adding additional cals will help you in your quest to gain weight. However, as millertime pointed out there are better alternatives. Especially if you are a skinny guy, an extra 300 cals or so might not be enough.

I don't know how a serious bb could get by without it
I eat protein every 3 hours to maintain a positive nitrogen balance
I don't take many sources of protein seriously other then meat and shakes & there is no way I'm eating meat every 3 hours
