I'ma start this'n here journal on monday.

I'm 6'3"
220 lbs currently

I'm gonna do a 3 day a week strength routine while trying to lose weight, so it's doubtful that I'll gain strength, but it will cause my body to need tons of calories to make up for the hard workouts therefore allowing me to lose fat faster, at least I believe so.

Just did 8 minutes of HIIT style running.

It went 40/50, 30/60, and then 5 15/45's

I just got back in to find out that my sister decided she'd make now her time to take her 30-60 minute shower, I hope all you girls aren't like her.

ok, this is the routine I will be following for at least awhile

Monday -
squats - 3 x 4-6 (if I get 8 I go up in weight the next week)
leg extension - 2 x 8-12
leg curls - 2 x 8-12
leg press calf raises - 2 x 10-15
calf raise machine - 2 x 10-15
Crunches - 3 x failure

Wednesday -
Bench Press - 3 x 4-6 (if I get 8 I go up in weight the next week)
Flyes - 2 x 8-12
CG BP - 3 x 6-10 (maybe 4-6)
Pushdowns - 2 x 8-12
Military Press - 3 x 6-10
Side raises - 1 x 8-12
Front Raises - 1 x 8-12

Friday -
Hyperextensions - 3 x 6-8 (I dunno about dls right now)
BB Rows - 3 x 6-10
Pulldowns - 3 x 8-12
BB curls - 3 x 4-8
Concentration Curls - 2 x 6-10
Wrist Curls - 2 x 15-20
Rev Wrist Curls - 2 x 15-20

Plus my HIIT cardio when I feel like it.

My main goals currently are to lose fat, and if it's possible I will try to raise my bench and squats, although it's not likely while I'm eating only ~2k cals a day.

I woke up dehydrated this morning, so I drank a ton of water figuring that would help.

I went with my sister and brother and we played tennis for about 2 hours in which I drank a quart of water, so I still felt ok.

As soon as we got home I decided I would go ahead and do my cardio since I was already sweating.

I did 7 15/45 intervals, on the 6th one I almost passed out, so I did one more :)

I absolutely could not cool down today while I was running, and I still don't know how I got dehydrated.

I don't know why I could only get 7 minutes today, it was either I was still dehydrated or else playing tennis screwed me, oh well.

I've come to the conclusion that my body hates squats, and that in order for me to ever squat 300 again I'm going to have to start all over with some ******* pussy weight and probably only add 5 lbs every 2 weeks to squats, so please excuse the fact that I want to put my head through a window.

diet's been kinda out of wack lately, although the calories haven't been to high, might have reached 3k once, tomorrow I will be back to normal with 2k cals and enough protein.

It's amazing how bad a few days of junk food can make you feel.

Worked from 6 am to 1, ate a bunch, caught up on tv. good day, good day.

approx. 2500 calories, 300 more than I wanted, but I ate too many early on. Ah well.

Overall it was an ok workout, the bench was awesome, but the rest kinda bugged me. I think I might do shoulders before triceps next wednesday and see if that works better.

Tomorrow's back day. Gotta work from 7 am to 4 pm with an amazing one break, so there's no way I'm gonna be able to eat right, did i mention I hate my job?

I guess I'll hafta have a candy bar or something right after work to even have energy too lift, but I hope not.

Worked 9 hours today, using my arms and back the entire day.....
Got off and went directly to work out.

135 x 6,6,6 (I'm sure you can tell I was adjusting to the new technique on them so I apparently didn't push myself all the way until the last set.)
Reverse Grip Pull-ups-

BB Curls

Concentration Curls-
35 x 4 each (somebody had mah damn 30's)

It was an ok workout considering that I was dead tired from work. I am disappointed though, because if I hadn't had to work all day I probably could've lifted much more. Ah well, did I mention I hate my job?

....yea I just realized today that I had written down reverse grip curls and concentration pull-ups.....i'm sure you all get the mistake.....

I didn't like the weight I had to use, but my form was absolutely perfect. My legs don't seem to be the problem right now, but my lower back is having trouble supporting the weight I need to use. Oh well, keep working right.

Oh yea, I measured my bodyfat yesterday with calipers and got 15 % and 16.5 %. Clearly it's lower than before, although I'm not going to claim that either of those % is correct as I'm not really trained to do the measurements. I might actually get it tested somewhere, cuz I'd like to know.

I had to do bench a day early or else not do it at all, I wish I had taken the second choice......

Bench - So I decided it would be smart to have a spot, man am I an idiot, first off the only person there was an old lady and she ended up grabbing the bar to early and then starting giving me bench tips.......she only spotted me for the first set :)

Right after my second set this guy I know comes over picks up the bar and starts doing reps down to his mouth. Pretty much he just wanted to try to make me look bad.......some people. I was actually quite pissed although I just smiled and said good job. Isn't a military press clear down to your chest, or am I the only one that believes in this?

Side Raises -
25 x 6 slow reps
Front Raises
20 x 7 slow reps

The raises felt great, shoulders were really hard afterwards.

I'm quite tempted to come up with a shoulder specialization routine so I can increase my military press strength.

Gotta go to work at 4, just need to make sure I eat decently on break.

Tomorrow's back day, gonna try to up my row weight a hell of a lot now that I understand the technique Belial was referring to.

Back day and my birthday, it went ok today, but I'm still adjusting to these 45 degree rows, because I'm so used to doing them parallel.

I discovered that my calves had a sticking point which is why they never seemed to be sore. Today I worked them to full extension which explains the reduction in strength :)

Overall, not a bad day, but my lower back was hurting during my second set of squats and after I finished the set and started to walk away I felt something pop. I'm not sure if I'm gonna have to switch to higher reps or if it was just a bad day. I think it was just a bad day, cuz I was having problems with my hip from the start. Oh well.

lol, well considering how long it's been since I've done deads and the fact that this is the first time I've ever done sumo deads I really could do a lot of reps, so my forearms weren't really tired. My wrist curls actually felt stronger today, it was just the reverse wrist curls. I may stop doing the reverse ones altogether, they really kill yer wrists.

My back is getting a little stronger, but it still gave out on every set. My legs weren't even tired after squats because I had to stop early do to my back. I'm sure once I get my back strength back again I'll be back to some decent strength.

Nobody warned me about how hard those are, damn those things hurt.

Hey bro, you got some damn strong legs doing extenstions and hamstring curls.....or the tension on your machines is way different than from the ones I use here at Gold's.

I have no idea if they're any different. I've always used the same ones, where all you have to do is move the pin. You maybe be using the ones where you stack the weights on it and extend or curl. Also, I'm doing seated leg curls which are easier than lying leg curls.

No idea, but yea, my legs are strong compared to the rest of my body.

A dude happened to be watching me squat today and helped me to correct my form. I was letting my knees in too much. He also said I was going past parallel and might not want to do that, but of course my goal is to go past parallel.

Had a problem with my back on the second set so I had to quit it early. The 3rd set was all about form. 4 perfect reps, all below parallel, all without any risk of injury.

The 245 was easy, but my shoulders just weren't staying back on the 255 and I'm not willing to risk injury for 10 lbs of weight.

Workout today isn't even worth posting.

I felt weak as ****, and my brother said he did to. They had varnished the basketball court up above our gym which we believe could have been the cause. I dunno, but something was up.

I basically ended up doing a bb routine cuz everything felt so heavy. Did alot of giant sets and supersets. First pump I've had in awhile, kinda missed it, but I'd rather do a strength routine :)

Shotty day, i'm starting a new routine on sunday, so I'm going to do my back routine tomorrow in order to give me a few days of rest.

Don't worry, I'm still lifting. I'm working out some kinks in my routine and trying to make mahself stronger and prettier. The pretty part is gonna be tough :)

My deadlift is going back up. I did 265 once yesterday. The hard part was lifting it off the floor, after I got it off the floor it was easy. Any tips on the initial pull would be nice. If I can get those first couple of inches I might be back at 300 in a few weeks.
