View Full Version : When is it best to take Creatine?

I just read in an earlier thread that one should take it 1/2 hour before working out. I, personally, read an hour before working out - by then the Creatine will have entered the blood stream and been used throughout and after your workout. I just want to make sure I use mine most effeciently. So, what would you say is the best time to take it?

I have seen people say on this board to take it before while others say to take it after. I personally take it 30-60mins before workout as it I think it works better that way for me.

I mix mine in with my post workout protein shake.

I think it's best to take it with grape juice, within 30 mins of completing your lifting

Makes absolutely no difference whatsoever when you take it. Creatinephosphate is stored in your skeletal muscles for days and when it gets into your muscles doesn't affect when it is used by those muscles.

Taking it with juice before your workout is beneficial because the juice has sugar in it which then gives you additional energy from the sugar.

Taking it post workout makes sense because some people have issues with it causing abdominal discomfort and you don't want that when you're working out.

I take mine when I remember it. Sometimes. Sometimes I forget it and it doesn't make any difference.

I always took mine in the morning and lifted in the afternoon.

I take mine after cause it has other ***** in it like dextrose, and I need that for my post workout shake.
