What do you guys think about cycling your carb intake?

Maybe something like this:

Day 1: 100-125g carbs (around ~2000 calories)
Day 2: 250-300g carbs (around ~2500 calories)
Day 3: 400-450g carbs (around ~3000 calories)
I am thinking this would help keep glycogen levels up while allowing you to drop some fat on the lower carb days.

By the way this is for the typical 200 lbs. bodybuilder.

Day 1
200g protein
300g carbs
55g fat

Day 2&3
200g protein
75-100g carbs
55-60g fat

Day 4
200g protein
600-700g carbs
50g fat

What do you think about just ONE day of low carbs?

Day 1
200g protein
300g carbs
55g fat

Day 2
200g protein
75-90g carbs
90-100g fat

Day 3
200g protein
600-700g carbs
50g fat

I doubt it will matter much.

For someone who is 200 pounds, to drop bodyfat, eat 2400 cals a day on average. My suggestion would be to eat less than that 5 days out of 7, and more than that 2 days out of 7.

At least 200g protein, carbs and fats equally split (give or take).

On days you train, eat more carbs (post workout meal), less fat.

Every week, same day, same time, weigh and measure bf. As your weight drops, drop calories for the following week. Adjust caloric intake to maintain 1 to 2 pounds a week of weight loss.

This isn't rocket science.

i think that is way to many carbs

the whole point of low carbing is to minimize glucose metabolism (therefore sparing as much mucle as possible) which this diet is concentrated on glucose metabolism

I am trying to exploit something similar for lean mass gain however

I try to keep carbs to about 80-100 and fat around 100gr and about 350 gr of protein. I have 2 carb up meals one on day 4 and one on day 7. On those 2 days I cut the fat down to about 60 grs and have 300 - 400 grs of carbs. Most of the carbs come from my carb up meal which I have right before bed.
Beverly International has a lot of good info on low carb dieting on their web site. Even if your not interested in their supplements the diet info is excellent.

Why must everyone make things so complicated . . . Simplicity is a much splendid thing.

Cycle your carbs. down, gradually, until you begin to see a loss of body-fat, then adjust accordingly to continue the process.
(don't forget you post w/o requirements)
