I read somewhere that creatine needs to be loaded in order to saturate the muscles with it, for it to be useful. Is this tru?? Or is it fine to just take before and after a workout. Or...do you load for a week, then take only before and after a workout after that week?

that's what i did...loaded for a week...now only take it after a workout....but i took a week off training coz i was sick..will my muscles still be satured even after a week of not taking creatine?

It takes like 30 days for supplementary creatine to leave the body once saturated. So don't load again.

I take about 20grams/day for a week
Than maintain at 10grams per day for about three weeks.
Than stop for a week.

Then repeat.

What's the reasoning behind that? It doesn't make sense to me per day your body can only use a certain amount, anything over that is just wasted.

I think that creatine should be loaded for about 2 or 3 days but overall it's a waste of money to cram 20g of creatine down your throat. Bet if you checked, you'd be pissing out about 12 of those grams everyday :D

I took 3 grams a day when I used it, got great gains in strength.

I never once felt this supposed energy rush everyone talks about though.

I suppose if you need the energy then load the crap, but you don't need that much for it to be effective.

I personally wouldn't take over 5 grams a day if I took it again. I'd prolly only take 3.

there is no need to load.. it will saturate your muscles within a few days... and for most ppl under 200 pounds 5-7 grams per day is all you need... excess is converted into creatinine (spellin?) and is not good for you (organ wise)

how long beforre a workout should you take it i take it like 1 hour 30 mins before a workout

take half your daily dose 1 hour before workout with a good source of simple carbs (dextrose/maltodextrine being ideal) and the other half of the daily dose the same way (with simple carbs imean... which you should already be doing post workout) right after your workout... JMO

Although I've never tried it the way nightop just stated, from what I've heard that works great for everyone.

I'm lazy so I always took it in the morning before my classes, lol.
