I just tried it for the first time. Good stuff. Definetly tastes better then the Designer Whey or CFM Whey from Protein Factory.

Hmm...I'd disagree...the only good thing optimum has over any other powder is price in my opinion.

Try the vanilla mixed in orange gatorade for a Orange Julius-type drink. Good stuff I tell ya.
What don't believe me? Well see if I care.

optimum 100% whey isn't as tasty and more expensive than eas simply whey.

Ya, think so? I haven't tried simply whey. What flavors have you tried?
By the way the vanilla whey from protein factory tastes like barf.

you can get 5lbs of Optimum Whey for 23 bucks at muscledepot.com......oh yeah, Optimum tastes much better than simply protein.:evillaugh
What does shipping run you on that 5 pounder? I support the local brick and mortar supplement store, where it only costs me $27.
I tried the strawberry Optimum, which tasted like ass. Infact, I found it misleading that it was not labeled as "Ass flavor". So, back to the store I went to exchange it. Now I have the Vanilla Ice Cream flavor, which is pretty good.
Has anyone tried the chocolate flavor? How was it?
Designer Strawberry flavor is the best tasting protein that I have ever tasted. It isn't worth the price though.
With protein powder, there is a fine balance on what it should taste like. Too much flavor, and you have to mix it with lots of milk or water to get your protein. Too little flavor and it tastes like ass. Just the right amount, and you don't need much water or milk to get your protein.

Does anyone know the p/f/c breakdown of the optimum whey and if that "double rich chocolate" sacrifices any of it? I can't get the page that shows that stuff to load.

i dont know what you mean by p/f/c...but i do know a guy that owns a supp store who had it tested by an independent lab and it actually yields more protein than the label says.

I used to buy this stuff because of the price. Not much into the flavor. Optimum and GNC protein are made by the same folks.

GNC probably still more expensive, even on gold card day I doubt you'll score 5lbs for under $25.
How does the chocolate flavor taste? The Vanilla Ice Cream flavor is pretty good.

The chocolate is probably the best flavor they make. The taste itself is probably not much better than the vanilla but it mixes much easier than the other flavors I've tried (vanilla and chocolate mint).

I too noticed that the chocolate mixes easier than the vanilla. I prefer chocolate taste wise though. I haven't tried the chocolate mint yet.

I would stay away from the Strawberry flavor! I got it on accident "was right next to the vanilla" and oh boy it took everything I had to keep those shakes down. Worst tasting stuff man. Vanilla Ice Cream is my tops!

Everyone always mentions how much the Strawberry flavor sucks. Good choice to stay away from it I guess.
Mix one scoop chocolate and 1 scoop vanilla. Ace taste.

The Optimum strawberry flavor is definetly ass. Used up a 5 lb. container of that stuff and hated every minute of it. I am now taking the chocolate mint flavor and I must say, I like it a lot. Tastes like those after dinner chocolate mints that you get from restaraunts or before bed on your pillow in hotels.I will definetly be buying another container of it shortly. And for 20 something bucks, you can't beat it.
As far as the EAS, I have tried both vanilla and strawberry and lets just say I won't be buying either again.
