View Full Version : FLEX cutting plan...

Okay, I'll admit it. I picked up an issue of FLEX the other day while the little lady was getting her pills and skimmed over an article, which suggests a somewhat large amount of supplements during a cutting phase. I can't remember all of them, but I know it included creatine, ZMA, glutamine, Vit C and a multivitamin. Did anyone see this article? My question is, how to take all of this if I decide to try it? How much? What time of day? With meals? How many times a day?...etc
Right now, I'm just taking Cell-Tech and the ephedrine-free Ripped Fuel. Oh, and probably 250g of protein each day. Will any of that interfere with any of the forementioned supplements? Any help will be appreciated.

Do you not understand that Flex exists to sell supplements?

Yes, I do understand that. That's why every article about training is a rewritten version of the one before it. My question is, if I bought those supplements, how would I use them. I don't have a full understanding of what supplements I should use and what their effects would be.

I dunno. All the major magazine push supps, but FLEX in that regard is fairly decent(It's nothing like Muscle Mag at least) I think its raison d'etre is to try and make certain bodybuilders stars. It's more of a sort of mouthpiece for the Weider Empire than anything. Most of the supplements Shamik mentioned aren't really that expensive(especially if you sub generic zinc and magnesium for ZMA) You probably don't need them, but personally I think they help and use all of them myself.
You don't really need to worry about interactions. I didn't see the article, though, so I don't know specifically what they're recommending.

I may pick up that issue and read it more thoroughly, then ask you guys what you think. I just don't know enough about supplements to know if they're worth my time.

yes, i saw that article alright.
first of all, i dont think you need ZMA, but it depends on your age and how long you have been training for. if you decide to take it take it at night right before you go to bed on an empty stomach
vitamin c - take 500mg with each meal
multivitamin - take right after your workout along with your postworkout shake
creatine - also take right after your workout (5grams)
glutamine - take 5g right before your workout, 5g right after your workout, 5g right before you go to sleep.
and no none of these suppls will interfere with each other.

I like to look at FLEX....I think its funny though that they never mention the word "steroids" when its obvious that everybody inside the cover is on more juice than Minute Maid. Cool pics in their though. Good training advice to. More so than Muscle and Fitness.
