been following a westside template how do you guys taper for a bench meet and do you train in your bench shirt . be gratefull of any help guys

This is a huge question. What do you do now? What type of gear do you have? What type of meet is it? When me it?

I get in my shirt 3 weeks out, train raw like I normally would 2 weeks out and take the week before off. That's about it.

Don't over think it.

cheers the meet is 3 weeks away it is only a local meet so am experimenting . in the past i have trained in the shirt 4 and 2 weeks out from a comp . my best result was when i trained raw and just wore shirt on competition day the shirt is a super katana extreme

I'm a fan of 5 week cycles. 5 raw, 5 shirted and rotated. Newbies imo should be in gear atleast 5 times pre meet in a 10 week cycle

I'm in the gear a lot during my training so all I do is hit an opener or near-opener 2 weeks out, then light reps to boards a week out.
