Uneducated Question

I’m completely uneducated about steroids, so please give me a break if this is something that everyone knows.

I thought that steroids increased your testosterone level. In fact, isn’t testosterone one of the steroids that people use?

So my question is, if you have increased testosterone, why do males develop female characteristics, like breasts etc? Wouldn’t more testosterone mean less female characteristics?

your body has a thing called a T:E ratio. testosterone to estrogen. When your T levels get to high your body tries to make your E levels balance it out. Estrogen is the main hormone in females BTW... That is why when girls take test, thier clit can grow into a little weiner, lol.

Because males cannot produce estrogen except in trace ammounts by the adrenal gland the aromitase enzyme converts testosterone into estrogen. Testosterone is extremely similar to estrogen, differing by only placement of a few hydrogens. As the testosterone concentration increases, so does the production of estrogen. When estrogen reaches a certain level, secondary female characteristics are manifested even in males. Breast tissue develops, fat is deposited around the hips, buttocks stomach and breasts. The use of an antiestrogen or antiaromitase is required to prevent this. The antiestrogen is usually a form of synthetic estrogen that competes for binding sites to breast and other tissues. The antiestrogens bind more tightly and for a longer duration leaving the estrogen with nothing to do... and because estrogen is easily deactivated by the liver quite quickly, the estrogen levels in the blood don't accumulate. An antiaromitase prevents the enzyme from converting test to estrogen, though it's less widely used than antiestrogens because they are somewhat cost inhibitive.

Well... actually I've never read any of the books that most people recommend. I'm studying to becoming a doctor (hopefully). That was all just cell biology and organic chemistry along with some info of my own that I've picked up along the way. I'd be interested to know what the rest of you recommend in that department. I know that alot of people that I've talked to say that the info in most of the steroid books is getting rather stale and has just been rehashed over and over without too much new substance. I'd still be interested in getting my hands on a few of them though. Hell, I'd say that more you can bury your nose in the better.... then ask around and see if people that have used the gear listed agree with what the books say.

ive seen a gross pic, that indicated that a clit can become a miniture sinep if a womans test levels get too high for too long, its not pleasing at all, im sure some of the female bb have this problem, frankly i dont knoe how you can do that to yourself:confused:

Tadger, if somebody asked you (like I am doing right now) what subjects to educate myself on and where to look, what would say (ie, cycling). I'm not really of a chemistry/biologie guy , and all those thing they talk about kinda confuse me but I read it anyway.
