Not more than 2 minutes ago, I posted that my diet would be better today. I went to my lunch bag to see what I could nibble on, since lunch time is officially about 2.5 hours away... and I apparently left what I had packed for lunch on my kitchen table!

The contents of my bag are limited to water and diet coke. And I have exactly $3.75 in quarters in my car to fund this meal.

There are no supermarkets or drug stores nearby, and I already checked - the gas stations do not have protein bars.

Is there anything filling (and not too bad for you) I can eat for $3.75? My choices are - Wendys, McDonalds, BK, Arby's, Fazoli's, and Taco Hell. I don't think I could even get a 6" Subway for $3.75.

What do other people eat when they are low on cash?

Wendy's chicken salad, skip the dressing and crutons, maybe the cheese depending on your diet needs.
Or just get a chicken whopper or grilled chicken sandwhich and just eat the bottom half of the bun, no mayo either. One piece of white bread every now and then won't kill ya.

I agree, go for the grilled chicken. Fazoli's? Are you in western PA?

Not Western PA - Metro Detroit area

The Fazoli's up in Flint is waaaay better than the one here in Monroe. I had to beg to get a breadstick.

Fazoli's peppery chicken alfredo rocks - kinda high in fat, but o so yummy!

The McD's grilled chicken flatbread is alright if you get it without the sauce. Don't know if they have that in PA yet, just started it in CO and we sometimes are used as a test market by McD's.

I work at wendy's, those salads are nasty as heck, so's the chili, the chili is just old meat we accidentally burnt, salads are premade in the morning before we open, and we sell those ALL DAY.

Chili? Fair for a carb source with lots of fibre from the beans. The beef is surely crappy quality like their burgers and fatty, not protein rich.
