I've decided to cut off my supps for awhile due to financial strains, even though I buy cheap ass stuff, I still can't afford them on my minimum wage salary. I was wondering will it hamper my gains?, what else could I do for my post workout carbs?

Man, you're just a cheap ass. A 5 pound tub of 100% whey by optimum nutrition is like 50$ canadian and dextrose is dirt cheap. I don't get what you mean by you can't 'afford' it due to your minimun wage salary. Your parents are paying for your education this fall, you're gonna live at home, and you don't spend much money on other stuff. Hell, you don't even tip the hair stylist when you get a hair cut! Seriously, just take a dextrose/maltodextrin and protein shake after workout and you're set.

LOL, I'm such a cheap ass. But still, I can't afford the whey anymore, or creatine or N large or anything. The only thing I can afford right now is dextrose. I guess I'll just mix some dextrose in water for a post workout shake.:D

No supplements?

Your muscles are going to completely atrophy and after a week or two you probably won't even look like you workout. You'll look like Woody Allen in the final stages of AIDS. Trust me. I know about these things.

I know people who take no supplements period, and they still look just fiiiiiiine to me. It might take longer to get the results you want, but that doesn't mean it can't be done.

Check dem prices out:

http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/opt/opt.htm

I don't represent them or anything, but you can't beat $25 for 5 pounds of whey with glutamine and low carbs.

Anyone know how the stuff tastes?

GIS - I have a thread in the supplement forum on that whey which you are asking about. It's Optimum Nutrition 100% whey. It tastes pretty damn good. I have been living off that the last week or so.

*** Without the consumption of copious amounts of supplements your muscles WILL atrophy into fat.

Don't worry about it. Supplements are just that..supplements for food. Just eat food instead. Not too tough.

Yes, totally. Say goodbye to that sweet muscle.

P.s. Jesus phoned - you're going to hell now too...

If you are buying your own food, I find that it is less expensive to buy Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey ($27 at the local supplements direct store) than it is to eat copius amounts of meat for protein. Meat is expensive!

I knew a guy who lifted weights alot, and was benching like 400 pounds. One day, he cut his protein intake back by 4 grams, and, well, you might know him. His name is Stephen Hawking.

What do you usually buy? I used to buy protein factory which is pretty cheap stuff, but I guess I'm too lazy to buy the **** anymore.

I think I'll put in an order soon, I might be able to shave a bit off the top if you're that hard up.

Hey, what the heck is the difference between "Natural" Whey and just "Whey"?

LAM

At the very minimum try to squeeze in some whey for post workout into the budget. that is truely the ONLY time you really need to supplement...

Well, I still haven't given up on my supps, lol. I just have a big 10lb tub of Nlarge that I take right after a workout, it's works well for me and my pocket. I still have one question, when buying supps online does one need a credit card to make an order?
