I like blocks. It feels more natural to me and saves the bars as well. Rack pulls put strain on my ribs in a weird way too. Just like anything its all a lit preferences.

Whenever possible I much prefer to pull from blocks. Pulling from pins I feel the bar has more tendency to possibly slide.

Blocks feel closer to an actual deadlift. I use rack pulls too. I like rack pulls vs bands.

Block pulls get my vote!!! I agree with the above comments. The only positive to pin pulls is, it's much easier to load weight on the bar, lol.

I prefer blocks, but I like both. Blocks are more like actual pulls as you can still pull the slack out of the bar. Racks keep the bar stiff from the get go, so its harder to get the bar moving off the pins. It really depends on what I want to work more. Racks take more back to get moving, where I can utilize more hip/glute strength for blocks (for sumo)

I would always choose block pulls over rack pulls is both options were available. Reason being has already been mentioned in the thread, but my preference is the weight starting on something rather than the bar.

blocks are alot harder so therefore we do them from that. i do miss doing very very heavy partials from pins every once and a while though.

I vote blocks BUT low rack pulls are so terribly hard. Rack pulls got a bad rap because people do them high and pile weight on. Low rack pulls SUCK and I can barely best my regular dead w them.
