I wanted to ask the members of WBB what their favourite Drink/shake mixes are? I am sure that not everyone sticks to the normal two scoops of powder?? I would be interested to see what people are adding or making to make a great healthy drink?
I have always been fairly basic, 2 scoops of choloate whey and a bannana?? But looking at all the fruit on the counter, veggies in the fridge, there must be more!! Do tell!

1 Banana
1/2 cup of cereal (Wheaties is good)
Dextrose (if desired)
the cereal is from the time i lived in Brasil, they do some wierd stuff!

I forgot the Milk, or water part, you can add a cup of whatever, they are both good with it.

gettinjackt.....what are the calories like on that thing, looks heavy!! You only use it to bulk don't you?

Oh it's pretty heavy..........there's between 900-1000cals(approx) in this bad boy. When I hardcore bulk , I usually put down at least 6000 cals a day(my genetics allow me to eat like this and only gain muscle, as long as I'm training hard)
It doesn't feel like 1000cals though:D

Wow!! Those are some good Genetics. I'm impressed. I stay around 4000, and feel bloated all the time. How often do you bulk?

I bulk most of the year. Every once in a while, I'll go through a small cutting cycle, but nothing too crazy, even during a hardcore bulk, I'll never go above 8% BF......So as long as I can keep up my crazy appetite, I continue to bulk......

<< scoopes the protein in his mouth, mixes with water, chews it, then swallows. (I usually don't blend my shakes together, I just eat the parts separatly and let my mouth do the blending:) )

Heres two for ya...
2 scoops
3 ice cubes
1-2 cups skim milk or soy milk
natty peanut butter
(add a touch of cocoa if you use vanilla powder)
viola!
2 scoops
2 cups water
3 ice cubes
1 cup mixed frozen fruit (you can buy it pre-cut pre-mixed and pre-bagged from somewhere like M&M's, which makes it easy for simpletons like me)
very simple recipes, keeps the ingredients to a minimum, and tastes good! the second one can even be taken to the gym with you without the worry of dealing with the ultra-nasty taste of warm milk!!

Obviously calories go up in your diet on the whole while on a bulking diet, but the post-workout shake should remain constant throughout the year. Adding fat to the shake (whether it be good or bad fat) is a poor decision as it slows the absorption of the protein and carbs.
Note: I did mention carbs. You should add dextrose to your post-workout shake. You need more carbs post-workout than protein and fructose and lactose are not the best kinds to use.
