If you're shooting for, let's say 2000 calories a day and the only days you suck down large amounts of maltodextrin/dextrose with a protein shake is on workout days, would you count those toward your total daily calories or not? I assume this is more relevant to a cutting diet, but in general I wonder if it makes that big of a difference. You burn some calories during a workout that you normally wouldn't, but a shake may consist of an extra 500-600 calories.

Just curious to how others handle it. I generally don't count it and it has yet to get me in trouble, but maybe at low BF% it could make a difference.

You need to take into consideration that you are burning alot of calories when you are lifting, and your body is going to keep burning calories for about 12 hrs after your workout. i personally run about a mile and a half after my workout. That's alot of calories burnt, make sure you replace them in order to get "big"!

You run while your body is already in a catabolic state? That's bad news.
