I eat a pound of beef daily. Its relatively cheap, $2.78 for a pound of 85% lean. Theres 80g protein right there!

Just as long as it wasn't part of the 18 million pounds recalled for E.Coli.

Is the 95% lean much more expensive? If not you may want to get a leaner cut.

And for sake of the thread I won't even bring up the asscancer debate.

I don't know about health risks/benefits to that volume of beef consumption daily, but personally, I'd get very bored very quickly scarfing down that much of the same thing on a daily basis.

Variety is the spice of life, man...

If I could, I'd eat a pound of beef with every meal. Steak is the spice of life.

Even with the meat being 98% lean, you get quite a bit of fat don't you? How much fat is in one pound of beef?

I guess it all depends on what it is. Ground beef you can drain the fat...steak you can cut the fat and certain cuts are more marbled with fat than others. So unless we know exactly what form the beef is in, how it's cooked, and if fat is removed where possible it's a bit difficult to get an accurate number.

85% lean is rather fatty. 90% lean or 91% lean is where it's at. 4 ounces is, I believe 9 g of fat, 23 g of protein.

I get 96/4 it is per 4 oz. it has 29 protien and 4 fat......at 3.28 a pound
