If you are trying to lose weight..say 20lbs. I understand that losing this weight will not only be fat but some muscle.. Here is my ?.. AFter you workout with weights, do you still take a protein shake? Or would you take nothing and let the body use its stored cells replenish the body.. If are trying to lose weight and you take a protein shake right afterwards. wouldnt that slow down your fat burning process..metabolism.. need some help with this..thanks.:confused:

After your workout drink a whey protein shake and eat some simple cabs.

Post w/o you are replenishing what was lost during exercise. This will allow the body to rebuild what has been torn down in your work-out.

Calories consumed within several hours or so after the intial w/o will be used for this process and not stored as surplus. (keep initial carb. consumption on the simple side and continue to feed using carbs. of the complex variety as time progresses)

There are some who prescribe to the notion that calories consumed for up to 24 hours after a hard w/o will not be stored, but will be used for building.

In summary, if you eat when you are hungry (and don't gorge yourself) you will only be supplying the body with what it requires to sustain itself.
