I've heard that drinking coffee before a workout, particularly cardio, can catapult your metabolism almost as effectively as an ECA such as Xen or Hydroxy. It definitely give me the energy boost, so I'm wondering if it's having a good impact on my metabolism...
Anyone know about this?

IMO coffeine doesn't really elevate the metabolism that much, it will perk you up before a work-out, allowing for a more positive workout resulting in more calories burned.
there is a flip side however to caffeine, it is a diuretic, which means it will dehydrate you and flush valuable vitamins and minerals out out of your system.

Take the e out of eca and all you have left is 2 letters of another four letter word ;)

Well, that's what caffeine does...it wakes you up, gives you energy. That's why you're drinking it/taking caffeine pills or what not.
Caffeine alone won't jumpstart your metabolism that noticeably tho.
