Anyway the tell you to multiply you bodyweight time 10 to for a cutting diet.
that wilg bring me to about 1450 cals a day. my question is. Is that too little cals? I hear you need at least 1600-1800 daily to keep metabolism from stopping.
Depends on your body type. 1500 calories for me would be way too low and result in a catabolic state. I'm not too big on formulas that are supposed to tell you how many calories you should be taking. They can give you a general concensus, but you have to learn for yourself through trial and error.
My initial impression is that 1,500 is too low unless you have a very slow metabolism, especially if you're even the slightest big active. I'd start at 2,000 and work your way from there.... it's better than starting too low and losing mass IMO.

I'd say multiply x12 is better. But yah, I'd cut on a 2000 cal diet for you.
what is your weight and body fat % ?
You don't want to go lower than 10x your BW. THat would be lower than your BMR and your body may shift to a starvation mode eating away at your muscles. Most resources I've seen recommend 12x your BW. This gives you a good "comfort zone" to lose fat and retain muscle.

You have to take lots of multivitamins with such a low cal diet.
Fruits aren't just carbs+water+vitamins as some seem to think...
1500 cals isn't even enough for the average joe who would want to be healthy.
Yuk yuk yuk.
Long life to fruits&veggies.
