Just like the title says.
Do we need protein after running? What kind of carbs? Is the standard post-lifting shake (whey + dextrose) suitable after a run?
Thanks!
if cutting I would stick to protein and a small amount of carbs (less than 30 grams) to keep the insulin response low as to not halt lipolysis...
if bulking I would consume about 10 grams of protein and about 100 grams of simple sugars to replace as much muscle glycogen as possible.

I dunno, I'm on the same lines as LAM. However, I would want a tad more carbs post workout if I was cutting. I dunno if there is a way to calculate what you need, but I would hate to not have enough carbs, cause then your body would convert to taking that precious protein needed for muscles and converting it into glucose for energy.

Okay, my standard after-lift shake consists of:
44g protein
85g carb
Is that equally appropriate after a good run?

Im bulking and I do a cardio session twice a week usually at the end of my back/bi/leg workout.
I still have my dextrose/maltodextrin/creatine & protein postworkout drink.
Does doing a 20mins cardio sesh after my workout seem to be pointless or less-constructive?

2 days a week (on rest days only) i do 20 mins of pilates and then 10 mins jumping rope and then consume 1/2cup of oatmeal 1 1/3 cup of total cereal a pint of milk 1 scoop of whey powder in the milk and 5 egg whites with half cup fat free cheese
Borgod Maxximus...doing 20 min of cardio after weight training is a great way to prevent excessive body fat gains during a bulk...
