http://www.gifs.cc/red1ac.gifSo, diet left a lot to be desired yesterday since we had no food in the house. I'll be back on track today, went grocery shoping last night.

I sat down to do my Trig homework last night, and 3 hours later I realized I missed my gym time. :eek: I actually kind of enjoy working out the problems. Yes, I'm a closet nerd. :angel:

Anyways, I have class tonight, but I'm going to try to get to the gym for at least a cardio session today. Changing back to the 3 day split as I mentioned before is good, as I still have all week to fit in 3 sessions.

That's it for now.

Oh, I got 6.5 hours of sleep last night! :clap:

Are you awake 23 hrs a day? geez you post at 5:45am AND work AND have night classes. You are definitely a super man if not a robot. 6.5 hours of sleep is good though dude, keep it up.

During my session yesterday, I was breathing heavy when I normally wouldn't be, I felt my muscles wanting to give out even though I was nowhere close to failure, etc.

For the past few nights, right after I eat, I'm OUT on the couch. I'm not really sure how else to describe it, but it sucks. It feels like I am expending too much enegy just to walk. :confused:

Anyways, enough of my :whiner: I gotta catch up here at work, so I'll hit up your journals in a bit.

http://www.gifs.cc/red1ac.gifSo, I decided to take the rest of the week off last week. I didn't work Friday, just stayed at home and rested. Same thing Saturday and Sunday. Friday afternoon, on the way to Home Depot, Heather and I decided on a whim to stop by the Kia dealership to check out the Sorento. Long story short, we bought one. So now I have to sell my winter beater. Not a bad deal at all, and I managed to get a 7 year 100,000 mile FULL warranty as well as a good bit below the sticker price. The full only normally goes until 60,000 miles or 5 years. So that was good too. We never did get the paint.

Anyways, Saturday and Sunday were spent loafing around the house. Just spending time together, which is VERY rare now with us both going to school. It was nice. Went to see "Ray" in the afternoon. I t was a good movie, long though.

That's about all to report. Tonight is Back and Tri's. I'll catch up with all your journals in the afternoon/evening.

It was for teh wifey, and she's happy with it so that's what matters. And now I'll save money on insurance, since I'll be back down to 2 vehicles, plus it has the highest crash test rating so it should be cheaoer than the Grand Prix too. Saving $$ = ace. :D

yeah? ill give it a go for a couple of weeks once i change my routine...
i plan to mix up my routine every 3 weeks, you think thats a good idea?
Thought it would allow growth from the muscle memmory.

They have many things the old gym doesn't, but it's a bit more cramped. The ellipticals are much nicer, I have a much easier and smoother ROM on it, it feels more natural.

Anyways, decent session. Kinda dissapointed at my flat bench, but it'll improve. The preacher curl bar they have is one of those longer 35lb ones and it puts much less stress on my wrists, I like it. The ab crunch machine hurts. It's the kind that when you crunch, your legs lift up towards your chest. I like that machine.

I'll probably go and get another cardio session in tonight, and tomorrow will be legs and shoulders. Gonna go and help my friens re-wire his upstairs and rip down some downstairs walls. Somehow I always get roped into these things on my off days. :scratch: :)

[RANT] Trainers! I know there are good ones out there, but they are not at my gym. Heather went to see one of them lasy Saturday, just for the hell of it...she's in a plateau and wanted some outside advice. She also wanted to get her bodyfat tested. So.....short story: the trainer (female) basically tells her that she should be doing mostly cardio (which she already does a lot of), and if she wants to lift she should use the machines in a circuit fasion. Heather told the woman outright that she enjoys lifting and doesn't want to slow down with that. She told the woman that she preferes free weights over machines. She was basically ignored. The trainer didn't even ask her what her goals were...didn't ask her what her previous exercise experience/fitness levels are. She just walked her around the gym showing her all the machines, and prescribed the same generic routine she does to all the overweight women that have never worked out a day in their lives. And then to end it all, she said the bodyfat test would "take too long" so she never even did it. Unbelievable..how do some of these people get jobs?[/END RANT]

most trainers are full of hot air. At one of my old gyms they wouldn't let me do dips because "they were dangerous". The manager offered to have a trainer show me how to lift. This pencil neck weighed even less then I did. I told them to tear up my membership. I know there are some good one's out there, but most just don't know.

I talked to the gym owners brother yesterday after my session. I told him they needed to get bigger DB's and he said he'd work on it. I also spoke to him about Heather's PT experience, and he apoplogized. I didn't give any names, I'm not looking at getting anybody in trouble or fired, I just expressed my opinion that he may want to be a bit more careful when hiring these people. He then asked me why I don't become one. :eek: May be something I'll look into.

I will be taking a complete rest day today, no cardio or anything. My body is tired.

You, a PT? If I didn't know you, and I walked into a gym to meet you as my PT for the first time, I would sh*t myself. That's a good thing, though. All the consultations I've had with PT's before have been with people I'm smarter and usually stronger than.

I think doing some PT work on the side would be a good thing for you. You've spoken of maybe doing that type of thing at school. If you get a decent cert (NSCA, ACSM) then you'll be able to do the job and get a taste of what it would be like.

And Gal, get your ass up to someplace in MA or ME. It'd be good for you to get out of the area for a day or two, and we'd all make the trip to meet up.

I only have 3 pairs, all the rest were too small, they were like spandex on my legs. :( I now have to but a 42 waist so the legs fit, but the waist is huge. Oh well...things could be worse I suppose.

I did a benefit walk today, it was only 5 miles. The "24th anual Turkey Trot" Heather and I finished in just over an hour. Not blazing fast, but we weren't racing anyways, just a day out together. I now have shin splints.

And for all my WBBB brothers, I am officially the last B again! ;)

Well, as is evident by my lack of updates...I haven't been to the gym since my last session. My diet has been mediocre at best....I have had TONS of stuff going on.

Many may see this news that I am about to tell as shocking, but I sincerely believe this to be a good move for me to make. I gave my 2 week notice at work. Yes, I do have another job lined up. The new job is in a COMPLETELY different line of work. For those that may not know, I am in management right now. I sit at a desk all day basically...and I am unfulfilled. Many would say this is a great job: I make pretty damn good money (especially for not having any kind of a degree), I pretty much have no supervision b/c my boss knows I get my job done, I perform next to no manual labor (aside from lifting the water jugs for the wussy office people), I can take off of work on a whim...I work pretty much my own hours...and the list goes on.

None of this changes the fact that I have been increasingly more and more unhappy at work. I feel as though I am wasting my time....the daily monotony has taken it's toll.

I went on a job interview last Friday after work. The company impressed me, and apparently I impressed them. They called today and offered me the position. As I said earlier, this is in a field that most of you would probably not guess. I will be working as a technical apprentice. Basically this company is responsible for maintaining all aspects of daily living on the base: HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Painting, etc. etc. I will be hired as a "General Maintenance" apprentice...meaning I will be working with all of the above until I decide which field I would like to get into. It will most likely be HVAC or Electrical that I will choose. I have always enjoyed (really) this type of work.

The reason that I have not jumped into the field earlier is that the pay rate of an apprentice in the civillian world is insanely low. I would have had to take a 60-70% pay cut, and that just was not feasible. Being that this is a contractor for the government, they have certain pay scales they must by law pay. So...to start off, until February I will be taking a pay cut...but not so severe that I cannot pay my bills or that stuff. After February I will be actually making more than I am making now...and that is only as an apprentice. Benefits are far better than my current employer. When I decide on which field to stick to, I will go to school for that. I do also plan to finish my degree in Business Management as that won't hurt should I decide to start my own business, or partner with somebody later down the road.

I have given this decision a lot of thought over the past week or so, and I feel in my heart and in my mind I am making the right choice. This will obviously cut down on my WBB time...but I will still be around. Thanks for listening y'all..just had to get all that out somewhere.

I will be hitting the gym tomorrow morning before going to mom's house to stuff my face. I'm hungry already just thinking about it. have a happy Thanksgiving everyone, be safe. i'll catch up in your journals at some point during this long weekend.

Dude that sounds awesome! Taking a pay cut for 2-3 months and then making MORE than you do now is well worth it, especially if it's a field you enjoy. Not to mention you will have tons of room for growth! I also think it's cool that you get to try out a lot of different things before "specializing" ... who knows, you may learn you enjoy something else even more than electrical. My only concern is that you're leaving full time for contract. Either way, good luck, although I'm sure you'll kick ass! :D

You only live once, so make it worth your while. If you feel that you need a change in your career, then do it. What makes what you said smart, is the fact that you realised that you couldn't follow your feelings until it was economically feasible. Now you find your self in a position, where the money will not be a problem, AND you get to go after what you want...That is something to be happy about.

i broke out the old nes and have been tearing it up lately. i don't know why i ever wanted more. i can't wait for gran turismo 4 to come out, my ps2 will probably explode i am going to play it so much. i don't see how you drink pepsi one, i don't think that stuff ever gets cold. i think you could freeze it and it would be room temperature within 5 minutes of taking it out of the freezer.
