Good to see you are being true to yourself and went back to the big weights. Although, your light weights were still heavier than my heavy weights.

Well, my unemployed days are over. I started work today for this company (www.combinedenergysystems.com) . So far I really enjoy the job, and the opportunities are pretty much endless for advancement. I am making quite a good paycheck, for just starting out, with outlook for the future to be in the 6 figures. I had an excellent interview/conversation with the owner of the company on Tuesday, and I started work today. I'm stoked. Check out some of the work they do, it's insane. From what I understand I will be working on a 2 million dollar addition on somebody's house next week. Whoever that guy is has some coin!

Anyways, my posting will be limited to weekends now, as I will be busy at work and the gym. I'll holla at y'all then.

They only hired you to save on equipment rentals like cranes, forklifts, etc...

"Hey..I need to move this 3,000lb pallet of tile! Where's JustinF?!..He's supposed to be lifting this stuff for us!"

*JustinF, hearing his signal called, ambles over and picks it up effortlessly, placing it 200-300 feet farther down in the warehouse. He is paid partly in cash, and partly in pRoTeInS*

Seriously dude..that's great news. I wish you the best of luck.

04-29-2005, 04:40 AM
Good to hear you got a new job!

04-29-2005, 06:09 AM

04-29-2005, 08:15 PM
bruteman- Stop yer whining. I weigh 300lbs, my lifts better be bigger than yours! ;)

I try to tell myself that too. Then I see what TheMachine and Chris Mason lift and I think I'm just making up an excuse. ;)

Congrats on finding a job you like.

Hey curl jockey where you be at, yo?

07-08-2005, 01:41 PM
So, it's been a while, huh?

Things are going well with me. Thanks to those of you that asked. Work has been keeping me busy. I have leaned up a good bit because of work.

I am still hitting the gym, 5 times a week. I do cardio every gym day as well. I am cutting right now, trying to look good for when I go to Mexico in September.

I am going to get back to updating this thing, but only once a week, and it will only be highlights. I have stopped taking a journal to the gym, and my lifts have actually increased. I am a lot less anal about keeping track of that stuff lately. Well, just thought I'd bump this thing, thanks to those that have checked in on it every now and then. I'll holla at y'all in a bit.

07-08-2005, 01:44 PM

http://www.gifs.cc/red1ac.gifCould it be? No way?.....Yup, I think it is.....WOW!!

Yes folks, it's a workout from JustinF. In case anyone even remembers that guy. I have been well, workouts have been well, but diet has been killer. The only reason I am not obese is because I do lift still, and work keeps me hella busy. This journal helps me too much to let it go, so I will be holding myself accountable henceforth.

It will be a bit sporadic here, as I am going to Mexico next week, but I will be maintaining a training and diet log. After the trip it will be daily.

Main goal now is to decrease bodyfat, moreso than gain muscle mass. Will re-evaluate that when I reach my desired BF level.

Current routine:
Monday- Chest and Bi's
Tuesday- Cardio (HIIT)
Wednesday- Legs and Shoulders
Thursday- Cardio (hill climb on treadmill)
Friday- Back and Tri's
Sat & Sun- gonna try to get some form of cardio, but no promises.

Diet will be similar to what I listed for Monday's all week.

09-11-2005, 09:15 AM
So, back from Mexico. It was great. I pretty much drank all day long, ate all day long, and smoked all day long. It was f'in great, but I'm ready to get back at it again.

I am about to read Isaac's training article, and I am pretty sure that I will be starting that training. For those that know me, you know I change my mind more than my underwear, but I am seriously contemplating a comeback to playing football. Too late for this year, but should I get things in order I could come into next season an absolute beast.

Every year since my knee injury I have made excuses for myself as to why I am not going to play. Then every night as I sit on my couch and watch the games on TV, I yearn to be out there on the field. Football is just in my blood. Technology has come a long way, and if I hurt my knee again, it can be fixed...probably make it even better than it is now. Well, that and my ankle, and other knee, too. :p

So that's all for now. I'll get this thing updated after I decide for sure what I will be doing. p34c3 y'all

http://www.gifs.cc/red1ac.gifDecent Session. I am weak after all the time off, however. Anyways: on to my plan.

I am going to do a cut. Time will be bewtween 8 and 12 weeks. It will depend on progress. When I deem myself ready, I will start Isaac's routine to get ready for next football season. I will post pictures at the end of the cut, I expect to be around 270-275 when all is said and done with the cut. I am currently a shade under 300 lbs.

It is long overdue for me to get back into this game seriously, so here I go.

The cut will be based on eating clean foods, doing a traditional bodybuilding split, with 3-4 days of cardio. 2 days HIIT, 1 to 2 days moderate pace.

Stay tuned y'all. p34ce!

I am real glad that I have not worked my legs in probably 5 months.
I now remember what DOMS feels like. I thought my chest and bi's were sore, but it is nothing compared to the soreness in my legs. I can imagine what they'll feel like tomorrow. Good thing I have some ETS on hand! :D
My weights were pretty weak, but I did expect that after taking so much time off, specifically all that time off from doing legs. I forgot how much fun it is to hobble up the steps after a hard leg session! :p

Having a nasty case of leg DOMS is great; when you start grimmacing just to sit on the throan you know you are wokring those gettaway sticks to their max.

09-22-2005, 07:25 AM
leg training is looking pretty good for 5 months off. sucks you don't have a squat rack at the gym. leg DOMS suck, especially when you're dropping the bomb a few times a day.

09-22-2005, 09:49 AM
nice looking leg workout Justin...if that is weak....damn

09-22-2005, 07:36 PM
http://www.gifs.cc/red1ac.gifstash- It is weak in my eyes.

http://www.gifs.cc/red1ac.gifSylvia- Yeah I know, what can I say. Trying to get them to change one of the smiths for a squat rack.

http://www.gifs.cc/red1ac.giferic- You know it, minime!

http://www.gifs.cc/red1ac.gifRBB- rofl! No doubt about that.

http://www.gifs.cc/red1ac.gifbrian- Thanks.

09-22-2005, 07:40 PM
Weak? I think not. Those leg presses look pretty dang good to me. And as for the squats, are you gonna find a new gym? I'd have to not have a squatting rack.

PM me rather than post it in here if you'd rather.

Nicely done big J, do walk around w/ water jug?

Thats what I'm saying, lol - really off the hook on the water tip...diet lookin tight.

09-27-2005, 08:31 AM
Nice work on the deads Justin. Diet is looking very dedicated as well.

We will have to hit the closest buffet and blow that all to hell some time soon. NO tequilla though.

09-28-2005, 08:00 AM
nice skulls and deads, justin. that's some big weight for not having done them in a while bro.

09-28-2005, 11:42 AM
nice to hear you're planning to hit the gridiron again dude

I joined another league this season (flag only) so I'm now playing 3 games a week, plus scrimmage/practice on Weds night, plus my regular training

It's a bit tiring to say the least, especially since there are many players on my new team that stand around like they're nailed to the turf on any play not right next to them; I've had to run down more INTs and fumbles and missed tackles than I can remember. On the up side I think I am getting faster.

Happy New Year!!

Well, a lot has happened since my last post. This has not been the case however with my workouts. The last one I did was my last one posted, 9/21/05. There has been much happening in my life:

- I am finally enrolled in school again, I will be finishing my business degree
- I am currently looking at houses, planning to sell the condo
- Most importantly and most excitingly, I am going to be a father!!!

This is going to be the biggest event in my life, aside from my marraige almost 6 years ago. This was a planned event, not an accident, and Heather and I are both very excited about it. We haven't been to the doctor yet to get exactly how far along she is, that will be later this week. We are guessing the baby will be born around August or September. I am stoked, to say the least.

Aside from that, I will also be redidicating myself to the gym. I put it completely on the back burner because of school at night and work. Not that the birth of my child is a specific reason to get in shape, but for some reason it does give me motivation. I want to be in the best shape I have ever been when the time comes.

I will be focusing on getting back into a healthy lifestyle, as when I stopped the gym, I also stopped eating healthy. I have not gained any weight, but I have definately gained fat and lost muscle. For the time being I am going to keep the rep ranges on the high and, and cardio on the high end as well. When I feel that I have sufficiently become lean enough, I will be on a muscle building tear.

I have a set of plans for this new year, and I will not settle on them. 2006 will be the best year ever.

01-02-2006, 12:44 PM
congrats Justin, that's great news :) hope all works out for you, all the best for this new year!

01-02-2006, 02:56 PM
Sweet! Congrats brother! Glad to see things are on the up and up. I can picture your kid coming out of the womb at at least 4' tall and hitting six feet before he/she is out of diapers! :D

I think you'll make a great father!

Good luck in the new year, and wish the wife a healthy delivery.

01-02-2006, 04:25 PM

Awesome WO & Congrats Justin... sounds like life is really going to be busy in '06..
Are you going to finish that degree before the new addition? Or you going to have to work, go to school and be a father?
Coming from experience.. that's when life bit me big 9 years ago.. and got me on the fat track... that I've been trying to get off for the last 18 months..
It's tough when you got so much on your hands.. I wish I had WBB back then.. Hopefully we can help you stay on the Big Bro' track going forward.
Happy New Year.. and hope you enjoy the new challenges..

http://www.gifs.cc/red1ac.gifScott- No doubt, bro. I couldn't believe the strength loss myself, especially in that lift. I'll be back to the old numbers soon enough.

http://www.gifs.cc/red1ac.gifConar- Not any more, sadly.

http://www.gifs.cc/red1ac.giferic-Thanks for the well wishes. I could only find one pic with hair.....it also shows how fat and outta shape I have gotten.

http://www.gifs.cc/red1ac.gifAnthony- lol. Not quite that long.

Well, as eric requested, here is me with hair. It was a good bit longer than this, and the pic quality sucks, but it's the only one I have. It's all for not though, as I have since become a WBB(Baldie) again. Sadly the pic shows how fat and outta shape I have become. :(

Had a job interview today. They had me there for 3 and a half freakin hours, and I have to go back tomorrow to meet with the GM. I think I did very well.

Holla at y'all later.

01-18-2006, 03:05 PM
Grats on the job interview. Sounds like you did well. If not why would they keep you there for hours on end.

Nother question. Maybe you have posted it and I am to lazy to look, But have you given baby names any thought. I found it to be tougher that I ever thought. Trying to come up with simple yet classic names that sounded right together. Didn't want any of the newer names that it would take my kids years to learn to spell. We kept it simple and had a Ryan Christopher and a Zachary Evan. and a Norbert Michael but that was thanks to his father.. We had Andrea Nichole picked for a girl, But alas our family is doomed to have boys only. My mother-in-law has 7 grandsons ranging from 20-4

01-19-2006, 06:50 AM
Nice session bro.

What happened to the other job you had? I must have missed somehting?

http://www.gifs.cc/red1ac.gifSylvia- :)

http://www.gifs.cc/red1ac.gifmidee- We haven't been looking into baby names yet. We still have about 8 more months. We are still trying to decide if we are going to find out the sex of the baby. I think we won't so we'll have to come up with boys and girls names. :)

http://www.gifs.cc/red1ac.giferic- NOpe, you haven't missed anything. I still have that job. I wasn't actually actively looking for a job. The guy found my resume on Monter.com and called me.

http://www.gifs.cc/red1ac.gifAnthony- lol. Puhlease!! You've never even been close to the level of teh fatness that I am now, so you wouldn't know anyways. ;)

http://www.gifs.cc/red1ac.giflilmase- Thanks for the support bro.

http://www.gifs.cc/red1ac.gifIsaac- Musta been a really knowledgable guy who made that routine, eh? ;) I hope you are right with your predictions. Where's my email, fool??

01-19-2006, 03:15 PM
So, the job interview #2 went very well today. Everybody that I met with was very impressed. The GM today told me that they want me there. He said he'll put together a package for me to review, and give it to me tomorrow or MOnday. w00t. I may be having a new job soon, and even better is it is only 13 miles from my house.

No session tonight since I already had to shower for my interview and I don't feel like taking another one tonight. :p Strength Endurance Lower Body workout tomorrow. Yayyyyy!

So, last Saturday I threw my back out doing high pulls. I was lowering the weight and I felt my back pop twice. I immediately had troubles bending over, sitting, etc. This is the same injury as my last one that I got deadlifting. I have not been doing weights, but I have been doing cardio. I have a Dr's appointment next monday to get it checked out. It is now a chronic injury, and I want it fixed. Just when it seems like everything is going on track again...... :swear:

Anyways, I did get the job offered to me. They actually put together quite a package for me, so I couldn't say no. It's funny how everything seems to come together when it's suppose to. Baby on the way, new job with much better pay, benefits, possibilities, and Heather and I are probably going to be getting rid of this condo and buying a house. :D

I'll try to catch up in y'alls journals in a bit.

01-26-2006, 01:36 PM
Good luck with the back Justin. Hope you're back in no time.

Grats on everything good!

01-26-2006, 01:39 PM
You seem to be doing quite well! I won't lie, I envy all of the positives in your life. Congratulations again and I hope all continues to go well!

http://www.gifs.cc/red1ac.giferic- Thanks bro. Will do.

02-09-2006, 07:13 AM
Okay, so the back is better now, but the knee is messed up. :p lol. As eric recently told me, I need to live in a bubble. The knee isn't too bad....I was shoveling some stone and it just popped out, and then immediately popped back into place. I iced it immediately, and all seems well now. (3 days later). I will be picking up some knee wraps before I do any more leg workouts, I think the ol knees are just too far gone.

I have today and tomorrow off, then I start the new job on Monday. Getting back into an office setting will be much more conducive to getting 100% back into my bodybuilding lifestyle. I will not be so beat down after work, and I will be able to eat all of my meals throughout the day, so things are on the up and up.

Heather and I have decided to stay where we are now, at least for a year or so. With the baby coming, we are both a bit hesitant to take on a larger mortgage. One step at a time. I'll be hitting the gym today and tomorrow during the day...try to get some cardio in and just get back into the swing of things. The diet is all set up and on point...

I'll catch up with y'alls journals after I get back from teh gym.

Well, to say the least it has been a tough couple of weeks. This isn't something that I really want to even post, but since I already posted about the pregnancy, I figure the question would get asked eventually.

Last Friday we went for the ultrasound to find out our due date. Long story short, there was no heartbeat found. At the seven week mark, so the pregnancy was not viable any longer. This has absolutely crushed the both of us, it put me in a bit of a funk. I know it was pretty early on, but I was so excited, it hurts a lot.

We will just have to move on from here, and we are ready to. We have had many talks...there will be ups and downs I'm sure, but that's life. I'm pretty sure we are going to start trying again immediately, after the trauma of the dnc is over.

Just thought I'd put in an update. I'm not looking for sympathy or anything like that, just needed to update since I opened my mouth about the pregnancy in the first place.

02-24-2006, 03:15 PM
Thats really really terrible man... damn. Lifes not fair sometimes but im sure you'll get through it, best of luck man.

02-24-2006, 03:44 PM
I'm so sorry Justin :( wish you all the best

02-24-2006, 05:48 PM
Very rough situation to be in my friend, i hope you and the woman get through it, good numbers in here also.

02-24-2006, 06:17 PM
I, too am truly sorry to hear about it. Best of luck on future efforts. Keep your head up man everything happens for a reason no matter how good or bad.

02-27-2006, 06:13 AM
Sorry to hear about this bro. You and Heather will be in my prayers.

02-27-2006, 07:30 AM
You and Heather have my best wishes. I can't imagine what you're going through but I wish you all the best Justin.

02-27-2006, 07:36 AM
Damn bro. I don't even know what to say ... I'm very sad to hear about this. Stay strong, both of you, and soon enough you'll have an army of curl jockeys running around the house!

02-27-2006, 09:55 AM
Any sympathy I have to offer cannot begin to mend your suffering, but just know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

02-27-2006, 06:28 PM
Justin, my prayers are with you. You are both strong enough to get through this.

03-13-2006, 06:26 PM
I would like to sincerely thank all of you for your condolances and well wishes. It really does mean a lot. We have both accepted it and are ready to move on. We have decided that we will try again immediately, it is in God's hands.

I have started as of today to work out again. I am extremely fat and out of shape, but that will change. I should have used the pain I was feeling in a positive manner, but I didn't. Such is life, and I will not dwell on it.

I have signed up to play football again. I will not be playing for my old team, rather there is a new start up team. I am taking a chance and playing for that team. Whether this team will be on the same level as my old one remains to be seen, but it should be a good time nonetheless. Anyways, my weak session from this morning will follow. For the rest of this week I will be be following a regular workout split, then starting next week I will be switching to a football specific routine.

03-13-2006, 06:30 PM
Damn glad to see ya back mang. Tear that **** up come football season. Michael had a heck of a season this past year.:D

subscribed, you have made some major improvements from the first post to the more recent ones, you're an inspiration.

08-21-2006, 06:58 PM
Thanks for the thoughts, everybody.

Well I'm officially starting the workouts again.

A bit of recent history:

I injured my good knee playing football this year. Mt loyal followers will remember years back I messed up my right knee. Torn ACL and MCL. That was back in 2002. My workouts have been sporadic since then, never really getting back fully into the swing of things. I decided this year that I was going to play again. So out of shape, I went back to playing football. At practice about a month ago, I took a helmet to the inside of my left knee. My kneecap was dislocated and fractured, and I tore the meniscus. Recovery has gone fairly well, I have started jogging again. The doc says I should be ready by week 3. (in 2 weeks) He also suggested I seriously re-evaluate if I really want to keep putting my body through this seeing as though I'm not making any money. For right now, the answer is yes.

I hope to at least finish out this season.

Here was my first session back after God-knows-how-long. Here is the proof of just how weak I have become:

Monday, August 21st
ME Upper Body

Flat BB Bench Press- 5x225, 4x245, 2.5x265

DB Incline Press- 8x60's, 10x60's 6x60's

BB Rows- 15x95x3, 13x95

Rear Delt DB Flyes- 15x15's, 13x15's

Weighted Crunches- 13x25, 12x25

I will start keeping track of calories on fitday again as well, starting tomorrow. My goals have changed a bit for now. I am less concerned with "bodybuilding" and more concerned with getting stronger. I will be focusing on recovery, mobility, and strength. After I build up to at least a "respectable" strength level again I am going to start incorporating band work into my routine. I will also be using my bands to start a stetching routine. I need to start taking care of my body, so it doesn't continue to shut down, as has already started.

Anyways, that's enough of the novel. I really do hope I keep up with the journal this time, as in the past it has been quite motivational for me. I'll holla at y'all in a bit.

08-21-2006, 08:37 PM
good to see you back Justin.

08-22-2006, 06:46 AM
The news about the knee is not so great but you are gonna be a whole lot healthier getting back on track with it all.

Can't keep a big man down, lol.

08-22-2006, 08:47 AM
Can't you find a easier sport like golf! LOL Take it easy on come back, I'm sure you'll want to get back strong fast. Let me be stronger than you for a wee bit pleaze! bill

08-22-2006, 08:51 AM
Stop slackin' Cabron! Glad you're back in here, and the knee will rehab once more. Our bodies may not be indestructable, but they're still pretty damn remarkable.

08-22-2006, 09:45 AM
Nice to see you back Justin.Hope all is well :)

08-22-2006, 10:11 AM
That's right! You better get started lifting again before you come down here! ;)

08-22-2006, 11:50 AM
Hey bro, awesome to see you posting again. I can relate to all the set backs myself. It's a pain in the ass, but each setback or injury should teach you something. Besides, we all know injuries build character. :p

I can say for sure that I wouldn't be nearly as strong as you are coming back from all that. Workouts look solid. Will you be incorporating some GPP/mobility days to aid in recovery and football conditioning?

08-22-2006, 07:09 PM
Connor- Thanks bro. Good to be back.

Coke- Thanks bro. Hopefully I spend more time in the groove than out of it this time!!

bill- lol. I'm sure I could, but I sure as hell wouldn't have as much fun. You don't have to wory about my strength getting too high any time soon. I'm practically a noob again.

Rene- No doubt bro. Hopefully I get on the right track again.

Sylvia- Thanks, muchacha!

Will- I have to try to at least get a little "pump" going. ;) Can't be small AND fat when I met ya!!

Justin- Good to be back bro. Yeah, I plan to incorporate that type of work into my routine now. I'm actually just starting to learn more about it, so after I get a better grasp on things I'll be starting.

08-22-2006, 07:14 PM
Tuesday, August 22

I did a bit of cardio today. Nothing crazy...I just went for a 2 mile walk with Heather and the pooch. Took about a half hour. Varying terrain from straight to hilly. Just getting the knee used to actually moving and working again. No knee pain in either knee, so far so good.

Lower body tomorrow. Should be interesting. I'll be taking it very easy and see how the knees fare.

08-22-2006, 07:18 PM
Hey Justin, sorry to hear about your knee. I tore the meniscus in both knees and was able to perform professionally after the injuries. I used the rehab team for the San Antonio Spurs and they gave me alot of advice I didn't get from conventional doctors and therapists. Let me know if you want to talk. Anyway... glad you're back in the gym.

08-22-2006, 08:49 PM
Sucks about the knee Justin. I know how you're feeling. Make sure to take it slow coming back. Start your squats high and gradually work back to parallel before you start adding any weight. I recall doing 225 off a bench just to get used to squatting again.

Come to think of it, I'll probably be doing the same thing for my ankle.

08-23-2006, 12:12 PM
Nice to see you back big guy!

08-24-2006, 07:09 PM
drew- Yeah, I'll definitely take it slow. I don't need to be hurting myself any worse. What do you mean by doing them "off of a bench"?

Mik- Thanks bro, good to be back.

08-24-2006, 07:10 PM
Wednesday, August 23

Unplanned off day

I had to stay late at work, so I was not able to lift.

08-24-2006, 07:21 PM
Thursday, August 24
ME Lower Body

Rack Pulls- 5x225, 5x315, 5x365, 5x365(barely)
**Wow, am I weak. Pins were set about 3" under knees**

DB Lunges- 8x25'sx3
**Knee was starting to bother me towards the end of the 1st set. Kept the weight light**

Standing Good Mornings- 10x95x3
**First time ever doing these, that combined with me being very out of shape, I will work these up gradually. They felt good.**

Thick Bar DB Holds- 3x failure
**I used these (http://www.newyorkbarbells.com/0125.html) thick handled DB's with 50lbs on them. I didn't keep track of the time, just went to failure.**

I stayed home from work today. Heather and I went for a walk in the woods with the pooch, took her down to the river. It was about 2 miles total, nothing outrageous, but I was moving so I'll consider it light cardio. :p

RE Upper Day tomorrow.

08-24-2006, 07:55 PM
GMs will be your best friend when your knees are hurting.

By squatting off a bench, I mean I use a DB bench as my box. It would put me at a little lower than a half squat, maybe a 3/4 squat. Just to get the motion slowly back into the knees without going all the way.

08-25-2006, 06:02 AM
Nice job throughout, you'll be on a roll again.

08-25-2006, 07:37 AM
J are you still doing fit day ? Whats the diet plan? You know I'm all about eating healthy LOL

08-25-2006, 07:58 PM
drew- Thanks for the explanation. I'll likely give those a go pretty soon.

Coke- Thanks bro.

bill- LOL. Yeah right! I will get back on track with fitday next week. I will be finalizing my diet this weekend.

08-25-2006, 08:02 PM
good job justin. Whats this about NC?

08-25-2006, 08:06 PM
Friday, August 25
RE Upper Body

Flat BB Bench Press- 30x135, 60 second rest, 11x135, 60 second rest, 8x135
**Yes, not only am I weak, but I have no muscular endurance. :(**

DB Floor Press- 7x60's, 8x60's, 8x60's, 7.5x60's

Lat Pulldowns- 12x90, 10x110, 10x110, 10x110
**These have always felt heavier on my power rack setup than at the gym. I dunno.**

DB Hammer Curls- 8x60'3x3

Diet was okay today, will finalize this weekend and get strict on Monday. Going to smoke a Partega 150 tomorrow, and eat some good food and enjoy some beers. w00t!

Before that I will likely go on a hike with Heather.

Should be a good weekend. Enjoy yours, y'all.

08-25-2006, 08:08 PM
good job justin. Whats this about NC?

I'm going down over labor day weekend to visit. Moving is a distinct possibility in the very near future. Either NC, SC, or Texas. Haven't decided yet.

08-25-2006, 08:52 PM
Justin--Nice ME and RE days! Now you just need to add in some mobility work on your off days and you'll be set for recovery. Course I'm a bit of a hippocrite. Unless someone is kicking my ass to do mobility work, I only hit it up once a week.

08-26-2006, 03:21 AM
Everything will fall back on Track Justin :)

You'll always be strong.

08-26-2006, 07:49 AM
Proud of you for putting your ego aside and doing that type of training, none of it is easy by any means.

08-29-2006, 11:42 PM
Hey Justin, my therapist said they used CONTINUOUS ultra sound therapy. My rehab was done on a gyrotonics machine.

08-30-2006, 07:32 AM
J thats excellent workout! I remember how tired working out makes you, when you haven't done it in a bit.
Now that sounds like a relaxing eve! Does Heather give grief over the smoke?

08-30-2006, 07:46 AM
**** bro, sorry to hear about the knee. I know you were pretty stoked to be playing again. Glad to see rehab is going well and that you are staying active. You'll be back full steam before you know it!!

08-30-2006, 11:18 AM
Dammit Justin, like I've said in the past, North Carolina FTW!!! If you end up down here, it'll be me, you, Rick, JustinASU, Mix and I think Cp said something about coming down this way possibly.

08-30-2006, 12:19 PM
Hey Bro,I heard rumors you were considering relocating south,Now you're thinking like me,I'm tired of long ass winters! Looks like I dropped in just in time for an injury? Sorry to hear it man!

09-12-2006, 05:24 AM
Justin- Thanks bro. I definitely need to get on the mobility/recovery stuff.

Sylvia- Thanks!

Coke- Hard to have a big ego when you're pushing the weights that I am! :(

Xand- Thanks for that info, bro. I'll look into that further.

bill- Thanks bro. Heather gives me no grief at all about the smoke. Matter of fact she takes the occasional puff herself. :)

Anthony- Thanks. I'm working on it!

C-Rock- NC is definitely high up there on the list of possibilities.

Wikked- Thanks man. Good to see ya back in here.

TKO- No prob!

f=ma- Thanks for the bump..

Yesterday's session will be posted later today after I catch up at work.

09-12-2006, 09:00 AM

For those that know me, you'll know this is not my first time falling off the wagon. I have had many ups and downs, mostly all brought on by myself. I'm ready to start the healthy lifestyle again, and stick with it. Lifestyle is the keyword here.

I am the fattest and most out of shape that I have been in my entire life. This is no exaggeration. I am 320lbs, and very fat. I have lost a very large portion of the muscle mass that I did have, and my cardiovascular conditioning in downright pathetic. I chase my dog up the stairs and get out of breath.

How did I get this way, you may be asking yourself. Well without getting to detailed, work life has been hectic. I was only eating once, maybe twice a day, and at those meals I was stuffing my face. Combine that with no exercise and crappy food choices, and viola, you have me. That combined with some setbacks in my personal life, and 2006 was not a good year.

I am committed, determined, and will stop at nothing to make this a great year. For me, for my wife, and for the new addition this May. Yes, that is correct, Heather and I are having a baby. May 2nd is the projected due date, and I could not be more excited. As a matter of fact, I just finished putting together a crib and changing table. One of these weekends coming up, I will be painting the nursery.

I started last week, yes a new year's resolutioner. Nothing groundbreaking, just easing back into things. I have one more week to go before switching things up. I'm not sure exactly what I'll be doing it, my trainer is keeping it a secret. That's right, I have a trainer as well. I will leave it up to this person whether or not he/she wishes to divulge who they are. ;)

The main reason for my starting this journal back up again is to let my trainer know how things are going. Aside from that, I feel it will give me some accountability for keeping on track. It will also be a good place for me to clearly define my goals for the year, and record them. I will be able to look back on them at any point throughout the year, and see where I am in relation to where I want to be. Sooooo, on to the goals:

Physical Goals
1. Lose 50-60lbs while retaining as much muscle as possible.
2. Increase cardiovascular conditioning.
3. Improve mobility/flexibility/speed
4. Rehabilitate my two bad knees and ankle.
5. Hoping that all of the above facilitate me being able to play more than two games this upcoming football season.

Personal Goals
1. Become a better husband. Be a great father.
2. Decide what I want to do with my life, and take action to get there.
3. Stick to my debt-reduction plan.
4. Start my 401k plan. (I foolishly took an early withdrawal on my previous one.)
5. Sell the condo and get a house with a yard for my baby and the dog.

Oh, and it is my goal to stick to all the above goals. :p

That's about all for my first post back. I'll update after my session tomorrow night.
