i was told i cant get all my protien from shakes, i thought protien was protien, it has 2 or 3 types of protien in it, hydrolized, and whey concerntrate, if i need 150gs of protien a day why cant i just get like 100 from the shake and 50 from food, i cant see myself eating 4 cans of tuna every day =/

why do you have to just eat tuna ? you can eat fish, eggs, dairy, poultry, meat and get some protein from powdered supplements.

There's no reasons it should be a problem. although I'd suggest a casein based protein supp ifi you're gonna do this(HSN Driver, Met-Rx Protein Plus, etc) I get most of my protein from supps myself. But as LAM said, if you don't restrict yourself to tuna real food will probably be more appealing, and possibly cheaper.

I agree. Casein is the way to go.

I get 70% of mine from powder

I use whey in the morning and post workout
the rest of the time I use a blend of Whey/Casein/EGG

some say this is bad because protein supp are not wholesome foods

there are fillers and other things that are not completely natural but I think that protein timing is as important if not more important then total protein intake

shakes can be taken right on time

I also try to eat carbs and protein separately the shakes are ideal for this

I belive the more different protien sorces you have the better,

for example instead of just having a steak and a baked potato have half the amount of steak and have some chicken ,egg or tuna.

I think thats stupid, you need the carbs to grow. I always take my protien with some carbs. You might get fat, but do you wannabebig?

usually I have a "serving of carbs" and then protein 45 minutes later

protein shake has 12g of maltodextrin to 171/2 grams of protein

the sugar is digested instantly

I never have protein when my blood sugar is low

I have complex carbs and meat separately also

protein brakes down in an acidic environment
carbs break down in an alkyline environment

I may be crazy... but I'm not stupid
