hi guys...
quick question.... well... a question...

first someone told me that I'm not supposed to drink whey on empty stomach because I will only absobr 30% of the protein and the rest will be oxidized to energy (waste).

so I thought if I mix whey with milk it'll slow down the absorbtion of whey and now I heard that wouldn't change anything.

Is whey ONLY for post-workout?

where can i find some good studies on whey?

what do you guys think about this?

when do you usually take your whey protein? and what do you mix it with?

thank you all

Absorption should not be affected by anything in the stomach, it will actually be absorb better on an empty stomach. Yea you should mix it with milk, cause it adds a nice taste, and you get some slower absorb proteins.

You should not mix whey with milk but you can...

milk protein (caesin) coats the lining of the stomach and hampers the absorption of whey proteins. water is the best liquid to use with whey or really any type of protein powders...

So every whey/casein blend on the market (and there are many) got it totally wrong? lol. The casein in milk hampers the absorption of the whey in milk?

Maybe whey won't be absorbed as quickly if put in milk, but it will all still be digested.

the naturaly occuring form of milk proteins is not digested the same as the processed caesinates used in protein powders...

no the blend are made to slow it down, there is no reason maybe except for post work out, that you want supper fast absorbtion of of any protein, your body is going to demand a constant supply and that is the whole point of milk protiens is that they take longer to absorb so that you have a constant supply, that is why it is so good to eat solids like tuna and egg whites.
