Definetly good interview, looking forward to the next one. One thing I don't understand, however, about Lyle's leptin theories is how can he explain how someone that diets does not hit a fat loss plateau. According to him someone that diets will eventually slow or stop fat loss due to a drop in leptin levels because the body is trying to prevent starvation. However, I have seen many people that have gone on diets for several months (sometimes more) and do not hit this plateau. Maybe I am misunderstanding something?

Differing leptin sensitivties between different people.
That, and other's have lower metabolic setpoints and faster metabolisms.
Eventually, fatloss will halt, whether it be 10% for one person or 3% for another.

Oh I see, so its not that leptin forces a plateau after so long on a diet, but it only interferes when a certain bodyfat percentage is hit?

I went on a keto diet last year. I went down to about 10% and it wouldn't go down any further. Maybe having huge cheat days is what I was missing.

Heh.
Well, I found I plateaued as well at a couple of points. Shifting things around, adding more cardio and reducing carbs still further helped a lot.
I'm not 10% yet but it's within sight.
